dan lookñ at the world at its best.
an afternoon cerveza with my boy blue So the road turns again and after sharing just over 2 RE BUENISIMO weeks together as a foursome, team Oz splits in half. Team Shake De Lock head to the coast of Chile to catch cold sic narly olas and the Simpson brothers to hang out for two more weeks catching sweet memories for those years ahead, when we´ll be hanging out on the terrace, sharing a cerveza and laugh whilst sitting in our robot wheelchairs reliving it all.
It´s funny how the travellers road bends, twists and falls into some amazing little crevices, people and places. I have found myself in El Bolson for the last 2 weeks enjoying this tiny hippy tourist town with such ease. This pueblito has such a nice energy, ambience, onda everyone ends up staying as long as their life diary allows and some a little more. I have been staying in a hostel that also caters for campers, meeting many muy interesante people at the local feria, on daily excursions to lakes, rivers, valleys or by one of the nightly random campfire singalongs to choose from.
I ended up in this town from meeting two wonderful clowns whilst asking for
The boys blending in. El bolson style
muchisimas gracias a los tres boludos, slinky, shake and brocky, por un viaje,yo nunca voy a olvidar. un abrazo muy fuerte directions in the streets of Buenos Aires nearly two months ago and they convinced me I had to see this place and their group theatre performance in the park of El Bolson. As it turned out I came and found Andy and friends bringing midday smiles to all the kids of the park.
Running into people, making friends in random situations and re bumping into them has got to be one of my favourite parts of travelling. When people say "what a small world" well for me it isn´t so much so, The world isn´t small, its big, I wouldn´t want to paint it, sometimes so big it makes me sad, but when you do bump into wonderful people along the road of life, its not because of luck but for me because of similiar interests, its only timing that stops it from happening more often. Andy, so good to run into you down here, thanks for making me and dan feel so welcome and I am sure we will share some more laughs when i join clown school in B.A
Some highlights of being here have been peddling through amazing scenery to the
lake, swimming in the refreshingly cold greeny blue water, thats movie-like backdropped, by snow covered mountains. Walking 10km to a refugio in the valley of green, where the only noise you can hear is running river water and birds quietly and politely talking amongst themselves. But by far the best part has been, that i could take all this in with Dan myman by myside. I am gonna miss you more than anything mate, it could be another year before we share another abrazo but there´ll be plenty of times you will be in my head. love you bruvva and already can´t wait to give you a big argy man kiss.
This town and surrounding landscape are another great escape from lifes rat race. Seems strange why we would want to live any other way. On arrival to the local park there seems to be a weight lifted from your shoulders, your heart rate slows to a trot, your celebro chills out to an almost nothingness (and it´s not from passive smoking one of the marketeers as my aunty Sandra calls it, funny cigarettes). What is funny though is how these towns exist, all the city folk
a ver!!!!
dan and boss. everyday para gliders (para pente) are landing in the the farm next door to the camping, a pleasure to watch. of Buenos Aires (Porteños) coming to suck in some hippy energy, fresh country air and to forget about all the truly meaningless things that seem to occupy, fill and distract the mind when doing the the big smoke samba. I guess there is a town very similar to this in every country around the world providing relief from the madness.
Last week i opened my inbox and had 2 emails, the first was from Kelli my sister, to tell me she had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl Daisy and the 2nd from Karen my sode telling me her father had passed away. Was a strange feeling in this moment and a lot of thinking followed. We go through each day sometimes forgetting or not appreciating the preciousness of life until its suddenly taken away or your holding it in your arms. I guess i just want to remind myself and anyone who´s listening its moments like these that can help us to make the most of what time we have and not waste it with regrets.
I am writing this, whilst sitting in on a shift at the hostel. Yep I´m working BABY!!,
Shadow games
a day with dan and andy trekking, swimming and being a lizard by the river. I guess i had been here long enough, they felt obliged to help out the poor funny spanish speaking aussie. Its great, very relaxed, 4 hours an afternoon and i can stay for nothing. I meet and greet the guests, bit of sweeping and all spanish speaking moments. I have some troubles sometimes understanding but i just explain i´m from an island called Australia and they grant me a little extra grace. Planning to stay for a month and send off the resume to schools from here. I am in a very happy place, working alongside some buena personas who have a MONTÓN of pacience, meeting new people everyday and increasing my spanish vocab and confidence better than ever.
des layben es Shun, la vida es buena, the life is good, because I can make it so.
