Yoooo CHIQUITOS y HUEVONES
I have moved into mi casa for the next year or so! I should do an entry completely en espanol just to throw you off your tracks.
This morning was CHAOTIC! I am glad to finally have some peace and quiet, and time to think. I was trying to figure out anthonys financial aid this morning but it just wasnt having it. hahaha. Then i brought my suitcases down. Oh gosh as someone said it was like being picked last at a soccer game during recess. Everyone else's families were showing up but mine. There were a couple of us left..then a man walke dthrough the door...and bam! i was out of that hostel like no other =P
On the drive to Nunoa, my host father asked me some questions and we talked, it was great! he is so kind, telling me that he lives in a very tranquil area, that the only rule is that i call them when im not staying in my room for the night. i live right on the edge of providencia and nunoa. and the T(i will call it the T until the very end its just force of habit i cant stop!!) is pretty close by, i havent gotten a full tour yet. so one of the first things he asked was if i am korean. apparnetly at the meeting someone told him that i was korean!! wtf. hrmphs. i was asked again later by one of the sons. chileans are pretty unbashful about race, but its not sign of racism, just they dont see many people of diff colors! gosh, chileans look so european/american/white. its amazing. most of these people if i were just walking down the street, i would classify them as caucasian! shows how interesting race is =P seriously though even blondes could be considered hispanic here, yeesh. everyones got the pale skin, brown hair thing, no really its crazy!
so i moved into my room, omg its so big! its much bigger than my room at honme, and the house is so nice and clean and beautiful theres even a pool in the back. there are 2 dogs(so cute), 2 sons, one who lives in spain but is visiting, one son who lives in the next house over with his wife and baby daughter who cant even talk yet aww!!! we sat there first and just talked about lots of things it wasnt awkward lol i met my host mother too of course. then i started organizing my stuff. my gosh i feel like i brought NOTHING here, esp no sentimental things lol, ahh such a sparse life i lead. i need clothes to be washeeddd lol. oh what else did we talk about. hrmm the son asked me if i can tell the difference between japanese, koreans and chinese if i didnt hear them talk. haha. then we talked about america. china. my parents and their restaurant. we had lunch at like 4 pm, lol. surprisingly my host mother actually let me help her set the table and clean the dishes(apparently the other students were scolded at for helping) but hey i wanted to do it.
Perhaps later i will be going to a birthday celebration? we'll see =D as of right now im very comfortable but im quite cold. tata!
