After 2 days of traveling we finally made it to Argentina!
With "We" I mean myself and, the boarding school I just went back to work for! We´ll be traveling through Argentina until mid-December when we return to the U.S.
The first few weeks we´ll spend in Mendoza, which is located in the foot hills of the Andes, 1.5 h flight straight west of Buenos Aires.
Here the students are taking Spanish classes and study Argentinian culture daytime while I.... do whatever I guess... Yeah, I´m not complaining!
Evenings are spent with our Argentine guide and friend Julio.
At the end of the month we'll be renting a van and drive south for a 6 week long road trip through Patagonia!
Along the way we'll camp and trek throughout the Argentinian part of the Andes.
Needless to say, even though it was overcast when we landed in Mendoza, (after dealing with an oil leak in one of the airplane's engines) the views of the mountains blew my mind! About 75 miles, or 110km, from here is Mt. Aconcagua, the highest peak in the world outside of Asia at 22.384 ft, or 6,963m!!! The pics will explain the rest!!!
Ciao!
