Wow, it's Actually happening!!!!

Hey everyone!
This is just the first of MANY entries that I'll be adding to my new blog while I'm in South America. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on where I'll be going, how long I'll be going for, who I'll be going with, and what I'll be doing.

So - THE PLAN
*Flight booked - Arrive in Caracas, Venezuela 3:30pm on November 12th, approximately 17 hours after I leave Vancouver. I'll stay at least a night there, and then wander off to one of the numerous unique areas of Venezuela. Either Angel Falls, (the world's tallest waterfall standing at almost 1km high!!!), Merida, (where you can paraglide off massive cliffs, take a tram up the side of a mountain, go on 'safari' like trips across Los Chacos, amoung other things)... or I'll head to the Caribbean to get some sun, possibly do some diving, or just take in the flavour of the laid-back and care-free lifestyle. I'm looking for volunteer opportunities in Venezuela but unfortunately they are NOT easy to come by. I've applied to a few organizations, but most of them have their offices set up in Peru or Bolivia...
*Fly to Lima, Peru on December 27th to meet up with my friend, Lauren just before New Years. We have 2 months to make it from Lima, to Santiago, Chile, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, and back to Peru... who knows what adventures we'll find... but I'm sure they'll be incredible!!!
*Mike flies in March 2st - we'll give him a few days to aclimatize and hopefully stave off altitude sickness, and then we head off on the popular Machu Picchu/Inca Trail 4 day/33km hike to the ancient Incan ruins.
*March 12th - Galapagos Islands!!! The big splurge of the trip will take Mike and me to the incredibe Galapagos for a 8-day cruise of most of the major islands... this will be our last hurrah before we quickly head to Quito, Ecuador to catch our flights back to Canada.
Just under 5 months - 8 countries, almost an entire continent, 10GB of storage room for pictures and videos, 62litres of backpack storage space= one helluvan adventure!!!
