After a hellish 16 hour bus journey next to a CRYING BABY (which I have to admit I nearly throttled after being woken up ever hour by grizzling) and a collectivo ride through the mountains I arrived in MERIDA!!! Whoop whoop. Its a really cool university town, sadly at its summer none of the students are around but it still has a cool atmosphere. I´m staying in a really cool and quite price($12 a night!) hostel with the most amazing breakfasts in the world. Thats not a lie I have eatern ever breakfast in the world and none are a patch on this one! I spent the first day paragliding which I loved, being terrified of heights etc I wasn't expecting to as much as I did. There was a German guy with me who seemed really nice, we both finished the flight absolutely buzzing. It was a very sunny day and we had amazing views of the surrounding area.
That afternoon I went to an ice cream shop which is in the Guinness book of records for having over 800 flavors! Only about 60 were on display. I tried beer and power ranger, I have no idea what that was,
but they were both rancid so I ditched it and had a posh ice cream from the shop next door! I relaxed and read Jane Eyre that evening(which for those people, and you know who you are, who believed it bored me thats just not true)
The next day I went on a horse ridding thing in the morning. It took me ages to find the farm but I eventually made it there. The woman who took me out for about 3 hours was really cool. It was quite a tough ride in parts which I loved as I haven't ridden in ages. One scary moment was leading my horse Candella and he slipped and fell off the side, luckily he was unhurt.
That night I set off to Caracas and had a nightmare journey which I don't want to talk about. I eventually made it back to Quito and get to see the girls again.
Mucho amor
