Uruguay - punta del Diablo rocks!

As soon as we stepped off the boat even though i had a raging fever and about four layers on in the high 20s, we felt this country was so chilled out. Richard is so strong these days he has been carrying 2 rucksacks around like a hero as i have been so weak!
The roads in this country are amazingly flat with loads of palm trees and cows everyehere. Its mega weird seeing hundreds of cows kicking back in the field amoungst palm trees, very cool.
We hired a car as Punta del Diablo is far north east up the coast. It a wee fishing village with dirt roads, little wooden shacks and loose ponies and dogs roaming about. A surf mecca in the summer with dudes hanging about everywhere.Golden beaches and wild turquoise sea... ITS AWESOME as the wacky hostel chef like to say.. he looks a like a Keith Richards wannabe.
It been amazing weather so as I´ve started to feel better we´ve been swimming and lazing about on the beach and hamocks, am i making you jealous!
We head back to Colonia to get the boat back to B. Aires, would love to stay but we need to get the car back, although at 12 pounds a day its not so bad. Most backpackers that make it here intend to stay for 3 or 4 days but get trapped and stay a month or more...we can see why.

skype
So poodiffer. What happened to skyping lass? The sickling Moofster has been waiting for Dudey and Didard! She is doing much better now and has now become hyperactive child after several days of sleeping. Also sounds like a comedy act as suddenly has a high pitched "girly" voice instead of her usual low, man voice!!! You won't recognise her when you hear her. Apparently the hyperactivity will be here to stay as she has previously been comprimised due to a lack of oxygen...good god! Thank goodness we are going to Scotland on Friday. She wont have seen any other kids for over a week and the cabin fever will be taking over completely by then!!! Hopefully Anna and Tilly will manage to wear her out. How are you doing? Have you totally recovered from the lurgey or is Dicky going to return home ridiculously over-muscled in a 18 months? Keep up the good blogging. xxx
