Helleuuu peoples!! Het is al een tijdje geleden dat ik iets heb geschreven op mijn travelblog. En kennelijk lezen sommigen van jullie het ook echt, dus vandaar dat ik maar ff opschrijf wat ik de afgelopen maanden allemaal heb meegemaakt hier. En het is voor mij ook leuk om later terug te lezen. Ja, ook een beetje eigen belang. :P Ik las een keer weer mn belevenissen in Brasil. Best grappig zo een online dagboek-ding. Nou ff kijken….ik ben al n tijdje klaar bij Krasnapolsky en ze waren zeer tevreden met mn scriptie en mijn final presentation. Dus voor hun is mijn scriptie al af, maar voor ik het op school inlever moet ik er nog een aantal dingen aan toevoegen. En daar heb ik nu even echt geen zin in, dus ik ben bang dat ... read more

Helleu peoples!! Aan t genieten van de late zomer?? Hoor dat t eindelijk sort of summer is daar. Aahhh zo zielig voor jullie joh. :-P Hier is t elke zo over de 30 graden (als ik het NOS-journaal mag geloven). Gelukkig heb ik airco op werk dus daar merk ik op zich weinig van. En aangezien ik de eeuwige koukleum (hoe schrijf je dat in hemeltjesnaam) ben, is deze temperatuur just right for me en smelt ik nog niet helemaal weg. Nou, voor de mensen die het nog niet weten….ik had me vorige week toch een beestachtige week!! Jeetje zeg. En dan bedoel ik dat in de meest letterlijke zin. The music sounded traditional and festive. Although we were one block away, pedaling in Paramaribo's streets, we could hear the brass, the keyboard and the drums. Like ants to sugar, we were drawn. A few feet off the road was a plain white building from which the music emanated. Dismounting, we inched inwards quite unprepared for what we would see. Inside was ablaze with colourslike the rainbow had descended here. The rainbow swayed to the beat and danced around. Then, a part of the rainbow dislodged itself and danced over to us. 'Fawaka'. The voice was surprisingly pleasant. It belonged to a rough-looking immigration officer at the South Drain Ferry Terminal in Suriname. He had just 'helloed' us in the local language called 'Sranang Tongo' or 'Taki Taki' before stamping our passports. A few minutes ago we had departed from Guyana and crossed the Corentyne River. The ferry building looked the same like the one across the water and the customs clearance was the same lengthy, tedious drill just like the one across the water. Outside the terminal, there were only three buses and it was then that we'd understand why the passengers ran off the ferry and into the terminal.
