Ok so had a few problems with my photos and crappy computers and just generally being rubbish so will try to cram 2m into 1 page!
After inca trail hung around in cusco for another week or so, going out lots and went on a 3 day raft trip on grade 3-5 rapids on the apurimac river. Good fun although camping was very normal compared to luxury of inca trail! washing my own dishes i dont know!!!
From cusco went to arequipa where did a week of spanish lessons which was fun, especially my gay teacher who was very reminiscent of fronk from father of the bride! Did a 3 day trek into the colca canyon, very hot and dusty. Going down was fine, but the 3 hour trek up on the last day was a bit of a killer! Had to leave at 3am to beat the sun. The lovely green oasis at the bottom was a treat though, gorgeous swimming pool and opportunity to sunbathe!
Then onto Nazca, where did the flight over the lines, short but very cool, especially liked sitting next to the pilot in the tiny plane! Same day hopped up to Ica
and Huacachina, which is another oasis in the desert. Went dune buggying which was very scary with a crazy driver who just giggled constantly as we flew over these massive dunes. Also did some sandboarding which was awesome fun, best way was on ur stomach head first with ur feet as supposed brakes-didnt really work that way for me as i flew past everyone else! Rubbed holes in my trousers and was finding sand everywhere for a few days!
Ica up to Lima with a girl i met on the buggying trip and she got her bag swiped from between her legs on the bus, scary stuff especially as i was sitting right next to her. Everything got taken, credit cards, passport, camera etc. Made me realise the need to spread all ur stuff out despite the fact it seems safer on ur person. So instead of skipping through lima up to mancora in the north we spent the night at the tourist police station where the chief kept taking pictures of me on his camera phone-very odd! Left her with a bunch of money to wait out the weekend for her passport and on up to mancora the
next day, where stayed at this spanking new hostel opn the beach that was like a resort in spain but for 5 quid a night! Too many cheap cocktails and a tab system does not work well and ended up with a very large bill! Could've stayed there a week but eventually dragged myself off to get bus into ecuador to Guayaquil, the biggest and brashest city in Ecuador.
Was supposed to be deciding on the Galapagos trip but in the end it was no decision at all and booked my flight that day to leave the next! Not denied myself anything on the trip so far so figure why start now!
made it!and 30min before anyone else may i add!!!
