16th of August Day 4: Chivay to Colca Canyon to Puno

Well here we are in Puno after a very long day. We started the day Chivay in the Colca Valley. After a 6:00 am our guide and driver took us to the 'Cruz del Condor', a natural viewpoint opposite the nesting-sites of the famous Andean Condors. We arrive in time to see these majestic birds launch themselves into the Canyon as they set out on their day's hunt. Both the birds and the canyon are spectacular. At this location the canyon is 1,200 metres deep. I got a couple of shots of the Condors but nothing like what Don got so I will down load his pictures and load them to the blog when I can.

After spending more time in the Canyon, we returned to Chivay and from there we changed busses, the 4 M Express tour bus, and continued to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We didn't arrive at our hotel, Hotel Qalasayer, until nearly 8:00 pm making it a rather long day. There won't be a blog tomorrow as we'll be spending tomorrow night with a Uros family on one of

Pen behaved himself today, mainly because he spent much of the day in the luggage.
