"For the past four months I've been living in Máncora, a small surf town in the northern tip of Peru. I came here in hopes of escaping the cold and enjoying a nice, sunny beach for a short while. Little did I know that Máncora would open up its' arms to me and offer yet another crazy opportunity to take a wild journey inside my heart and soul, provide a doorway into the homes and lives of new ... and a car full of gringos. I got out there in the water and was able to drop down the face of 3 of these waves and belly board for a good amount of time. The waves seemed so big I didn't want to stand up and risk falling off, for the sheer joy of just feeling the speed of riding that wave. I think I earned some respect from Chicho that day.

For miles there a beautiful resorts that line the beaches near Máncora. This area is a good place for travellers who really love their comfort. I really didn't have much experience with this part of Máncora, but I did try the food and drinks at Sausalito Beach and they were amazing.

Your long lost twin!
You DO look like Sofía Mulanovich!! I google-imaged her. That's awesome! Sounds like you've had a blast in Mancora Beach. This post in particular made me envious. :)

Congrats...and welcome back!
Kindra, you made me gasp out loud reading about you coming home! Let me first say congratulations on a most amazing journey you've had. I am humbled by what you've done, the length of time you've spent on the road, and most especially, by the connection you've made with the lives of the locals. Over all the years I'v been traveling, that's one thing I've had the hardest time with. I can bond with my fellow travelers, but someone who can do the same with the locals has the true heart of a traveler. Welcome back, my friend. And if you want a USAirways buddy pass to pay a few visits in the states while you're home, let me know... worldwidemike
