We got to Lima after a loooooooooong bus ride and found a hostel in the Miraflores district of Lima. Lima is an enormous city, stretching as far along the coast as the eye can see. We checked out the ceviche, as Lima is quite famous for its ceviche. The restaurant that was advertised though was pretty gross and neither of us could even finish our meal. For dinner we went to a Burrito Bar in Miraflores, which we both absolutely LOVED. so delicious!!! We hung out in Lima for nearly two weeks, taking cooking classes and a salsa class, enjoying the beach (and not being at high altitude), and exploring the city. We used our new cooking techniques and ingredients to make up some phenomenal dishes, like Fish Tacos a la Huancaina (using a special spicy pepper sauce made from peppers that only grow here). We saw Valiente (Brave) and Batman in theaters, both awesome movies. Gail and Olin showed up in Lima for a brief visit before they continued on to the jungle, so we had a nice dinner with them out on the pier, in a beautiful restaurant. I´ve pretty much got full use of my arm and hand

Learning to cook Peruvian dishes back.. just can´t lift heavy objects. My nose piercing and our tattoos are completely healed and we´re ready to meet up with Gail and Olin for the next part of our adventure!!
