Lima y Huaraz

Salut salut!

Nous avons ete a Huaraz, dans les hautes montagnes, mais n'avons pu rien voir... C'est la saison des pluies dans l'altiplano. Nous avons pense que ce ne serait pas si pire, mais avec ces changements climatiques, le climat est devenu fou partout, surtout ici au Perou! Nous avons toutefois profite de faire un tour de velo de montagne... comment pourrait-on qualifier.... terrible? Bon, il n'y a rien a envier a ces peruviens pour le velo de montagne quand on vient de Golden! C'est une ville franchement laide, mais il faut comprendre que suite a un glissement de terrain 90% de la ville a ete aneanti il y a environ 30 ans. Une chose certaine, c'est partie remise car apparemment c'est LE lieu de randonnee au mois de juin.

Un peu decourages, nous sommes repartis vers la cote desertique ou nous etions sur d'avoir du soleil! ;p

Une belle surprise pour nous fut Lima, la capitale. TOUT le monde nous disait que c'etait laid, polue, dangeureux, que tu te feras voler, etc. Oui, il fallait faire attention, mais c'est magnifique au centre et dans le quartier Miraflores. On peut meme vous le recommander!

Hey hey!

We visited Huaraz, in the high mountains, but did not see much... It is the rainy season in the Altiplano. We thought that we would give it a shot, but it rained every day and apparently the climatic changes are not helping at all. We went up a mountain for a bike ride... and how could we describe... it was terrible? Well, at least we don't have to envy the peruvians for their mountain biking since we come from Golden. On top of that, the town itself was ugly, but you must understand that is has been whipped outby a land slide (to 90%) about 30 years ago. One thing for sure, we will be back since it is THE spot for hiking (in June).

A little disappointed, we returned to the desert coast where we were sure to see the sun! ;p

An unexpected surprise, Lima was not what we expected to be. Everyone was saying that it was polluted, dangerous, ugly, not interresting, that you would be certain to be mobbed.... well, yes we had to take care, but the center and the neighborhood Miraflores were beautiful! We can even recommend!
