Hello from the crazy, dirty, noisy city of Lima!
Sorry I havent blogged before but I really didnt manage to upload pictures or write long letters to every one. This is what happens if you are on the road. And I can tell you, there is something amazing happening everyday in this country. Well, at least its impressing, inspiring or intimidating for a German gringa like me who's never been to a big mega city like Lima (8 mio people) or to such magic place as Cusco - both incredibly different but located in the same country. Shows a bit how diverse this country is and how much it has to offer.
Well, for the ones who dont know...
I have stayed the whole april with my 2 Peruvian girl friends Paola and Nancy in Cusco. I know them from the good old times when I spent a high school year in the US. And finally after almost 10 years I managed to visit them in this crazy, beautiful country.
Currently Im in Lima, the capital. Just arrived last Saturday and started monday already working with the German Goethe-Institut. I live in a very cool and very red student house called "la casa roja" in Miraflores, which is the chick, modern and posh part of town - good for gringos. In total we are 14 young foreigners in this house with a awsome mix of nationalities, most doing internships with orgs, companies or embasies.
Please forgive me but I gotta go now...they serve cake for a reunion at my work and I dont wanna miss the yummy but also extremely sweet cakes Peru has got to offer.
Big hug to you all and check out my blog for news from the little crazy red-head!
