Hola de Lima!
It's been crazy since July - a move to Vancouver from San Francisco, lots of cleaning/packing in Vancouver, our surprise wedding, a fun-filled, but chaotic drive down the coast, and Sarah had an emergency root canal to boot.
But we have finally made our way down to Lima, where we're staying in Miraflores at the Inka Lodge, a nice, new hostel. We're rather tired from our craziness and our travels, and we're sure there's going to be plenty more. But so much awesomeness as well.
Rather than listing our itinerary, we figure we can surprise you (and ourselves) with our adventures.
Some observations:
*Pupusas at the San Salvador airport are delicious, yet very different from those we know in San Francisco. While the flour had the same consistency of the SF ones, they weren't quite as thick or as fried, which made them a bit lighter.
*One must remember that toilet paper must not be flushed down the toilet, but oddly, the washrooms don't stink.
*In Lima, in order to catch a bus, one must pay attention to the guy who is hanging his head out the window with a sign denoting the destination
*Sarah can sleep on a plane if properly drugged following a root canal.
*I'm not sure if I can trust the sales engines of Peruvian bus websites.
We'll be back, and hopefully add photos when we actually have them.

Can't wait to hear more about your travels.

Dave,
We don´t have plans to go to Uruguay as of now, but that may change. Have you been?
I´ve had Mate in San Francisco, but I´m sure that the stuff here in South America outclasses the stuff you can buy at Trader Joe´s. Thanks for the recommendation,
Matt
