Bob couldn´t resist taking this silly photo because the flower was right at my ear level.
It is already Saturday and I finally get a little time to write a little. Bob and I have been adjusting to the high altitude and getting some rest from the very long trip to get here. We took a nap yesterday afternoon (Friday) and then another nap later before going to our friend´s bar called Indigo to drop off a computer we bought for him to give to his sister.

First the flight . . . our favorite part was the flight from Lima to Cusco. The mountains below were incredible! Previous to that the short flight to LAX went very smoothly. We had about four hours to kill so we decided to work up an appetite by walking the entire circumference of the airport while going up and down the stairs at each parking structure. I think that was a good idea because the flight from LAX to Miami was very uncomfortable for Bob. The seat just to the front of him pinned his knees entirely when the guy sitting there put his seat back. The steward wasn´t much help so we took it upon ourselves to seek out another empty seat and took it. BYW, my overhead

I hope this photo can give you a small idea of the vastness of the mountain below. Because this area is so close to the equator there isn´t as much snow as further south.
light wasn´t working either, nor the headphones! Yikes! Anyway, we boarded our next leg to Lima from Miami at around midnight and touched down at 5:45 am in Cusco. I bet you can imagine the quality of our sleep on the plane.

After arriving in Cusco our friend Jhon picked us up at the airport. He was very happy to see us and us him. I think he really didn´t believe that we would return to Peru to visit, see his school, his room, and make plans for our overnight hike and trip over to the Tambopata jungle. That was our quest today to try to set all of those activities into place.

Tomorrow morning after breakfast we will begin our overnight backpack into the Andean foothills (the pass is at 13,800). I hope we get some great photos to post so you can get a great feeling for the trail and vistas we will experience.

Until then, I really do miss home as usual, our amigos, familia y perros. Abrazos Y besos, Andrea

This is a photo of Bob and Jhon (the guy we came to visit). In the background is a church that was built on the top of an Incan sturcture.
