This is just a trial entry to get started. We are heading out for Peru on Friday and are very excited. We are starting out in Cusco, going to hike the Incan Trail to Machu Picchu and then travel to Manu for a jungle tour. Our last couple days will be hanging out in Cusco and the Sared Valley. We are suprisingly looking forward to the no showering/camping aspects and even more importantly the lack of cell phone reception. Despite our best efforts to get prepared and in shape for this trip, we have both managed to hurt ourselves or get sick. Nate managed to fracture his elbow about two weeks ago (and believe it or not he was not drinking! Stone sober!) and I have come down with a killer cold thanks to my typhoid bearing sweeties--nieces Ella and Avery who came to see us last weekend. (We have no built up immunities for kid germs). We are hoping that both the arm and the cold are managable by the time we take off. To the extent we can, we will try to update everyone on our adventures.

Love you all,

Jess and Nate
