We wake at 9am and discover that we have slept for 14 hours solid but it was definately needed. We have one more full day left in Cusco before we leave to fly to Lima and then onto Brazil. We have a pile of washing to sort and I want to buy some footwear that is appealing to my toes so we get ourselves organised.

We are meeting up with the rest of the group this evening in the main plaza so we spend the day completing our chores and stopping for lunch. My feet are not as bad as they were but my knee and ankles are looking decidedly big. We do not walk too far and soon find ourselves back at the hostel washing done and packing our bags for the next day. I take great pleasure throwing my combats away coupled with alot of our warm clothes that we no longer need.

We head off clean and tidy for the plaza to meet the others and find that there is a traditional dance session taking place. We are early so we wonder over to take a look and end up running into the oz croud straight

SALKANTAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
away. It is a festival day in Peru were not quite sure what it is all about but the dancing is good.

Heading back to the waterfall we run into everyone else and are soon off to a bar. The ozzies had even invited Javier and Ruben and although Ruben did not make it Javier did and that was a really nice touch.

So we ordered some food drank lots of beer and wine and laughed and joked about our experiences. Our group was great and it made all the difference to the tour to share our time with like minded people. It was sad when we all parted that night as we had really got on well, Salkantay would not have been the same without Lukes jokes, Michaels tent stories, Anthonys advice for Rio, Jades crudeness (you know you are), Anna´s translating, the two english girls singing and Anna´s wink murder.

So we parted company with our new friends and took our flight the next day to Lima chcking into a very nice suite about 10 minutes from the airport. Still tired and not really interested in wondering around Lima we settled into our lovely room with hugh bed, kitchen facilites and a pretty ensuite. We lazed the afternoon away and left Lima at 7.30am the next morning to Sau Paulo and some well deserved sunshine...........
