So on Xmas eve we travel back to Arequipa where we are planning to ahve a full group Xmas dinner and secret santa for this evening - should be interesting and the food should be good - I hope!!! Although we have to be up at 5am tmw to head to the airport off dave and I go to get a bottle of wine for dinner - well its xmas after all ;-) hee hee!!! So dinner was actually quite good I have to say I was surprised esp as we had to rent an oven across the road as the Hstal kitchen did not have one!!! I Know figure that out!!! I got a real cool secreat Santa as well - a real nice ikle bag and looking at the others i was def pleased hee hee!!! There was an added extra to mine as well as I got to play with the Firecrtacker that Jack bought - how cool is that hee hee!!! Dave and I also got Seb a perssie of a new Peruvian outfit so he fits in and looks so very cute!! After dinner we took the left overs out to the homeless as there are
soo many of them on the streets and then took a wander to the main square which was really quite buzzing!! Headed back to the hostal where we drank Jacks fake champers - was not the best but hey would be rude to say no!!! hee hee!!! Not late night though as off to the airport for a 6.30am flight - a great way to spend Xmas Day!!! Glad i dont celebrate it!!! ;-)
Well we all made it up at stupid o´clock - really should have packed last night after all but hey got it all in the back pack ancd can sort it all out at Cusco!!! So we got to the hotel at about 10ish and decided to chill for a few hours before heading out. was a pretty nice town, we got all our last bits for the Inca trail, I still cannot believe that we are doing that soo soon - very excited but a bit nervous!!! We had our briefing from Mario (our guide for the Inca Trail) this eve and got all out duffle bags to fill up with clothes and stuff........yep I think i an gonna die but it will soo
be worth it!!!
So today we found our first Irish pub in Sth America so far and it is the the hghest altitude owned Irish pub!!! Got chatting to some americans that were actually quite helpful and gace me some advice about travelling from Quito to Columbia!!
So today was menat to be the day for the Sacred Valley tour but everyone had to agree to go but it was out of some of the others budgets so we chilled in Cusco til 3pm - watched footie - which was good flet like a boxing day at home!! hee hee.............We went back tot he Irsh pub and i really think the Irish brings out the madness in all as we met some mancs and Aussies - and seriously the antics were just not nnormal all a tad made hee hee but was fun whilst watching Arsenal lose a 2nil lead again!!!!
So we leave Cusco at about 3.30pm to head to Ollantaytambofor the night befor the Inca Trail starts, unfortunatlyy one of the girls in the group has been taken ill and is in hospital so will not be taking part - she must be gutted ;-(
a real early night for all though as we are starting an ikle stroll tmw!!! hee hee!! Bring it on!!!
