One of the houses of the nuns. Till 1871 they lived with up to four servants in their own house. After the pope became aware of the wealthy lifestyle these nuns had, he ordered them to leave their houses and all sleep and eat together in one big hall and give up their slaves.

The guide and Renzo near one of the painted houses. They were made of silas the vulcanic white stone, which is found abundantly here. Due to the heavy reflexion of the white stones, they decided to paint all the walls either red or blue. Poor nuns, which hadn´t sunglasses at that time.

Ik word non!
Tjonge, wat een prachtig klooster zeg! Daar zou je bijna non voor worden! (Toch maar niet) Zal blij wezen als het morgen is;eindelijk vakantie! de 29e vlieg ik naar Bordeaux. Lijkt me heerlijk Ien en Kees weer eens te zien! Viajamas mucho!
