Unfortunately I was battling a bit of food poisoning during this part of the journey so all I have to show is a lovely picture of the mountain peaks from our hotel. The town of Huarez is located at about 10,000 feet and is about 8 hours north of Lima, not too far from the coast. The peaks of these mountains top 20,000 feet! Incredible!. ThereĀ“s several hikes you can take up them- most involving ice picks and boots with spikes. I was happy to sip tea and gaze at them from below.

A common sight in just about every city here. Freaky Manequins with missing body parts, no hair, zombie faces. We just happened to have our camera for this one. Sure makes me want to buy that shirt.
