The jungle was awesome. I had gone before with the Oasis group and had loved it, but this was so different from the first time that I went. We saw tons of big animals (sloths, monkeys, camin, lots of birds) and it seemed like we were much deeper in the jungle.
The highlights...
- seeing 4 different types of monkeys on our first boat ride.
- seeing sloths!
- our guide jumping on a camins back..like the crocodile hunter
- catching piranhas
- swimming in tha lakes
- making yuka bread
- yelling at wasp and hearing them īmarchīinside of their nest
- finding wild mushrooms and learning about plants and their medicinal uses
- having crazy animals live on the roof above where we slept
Bird Watcher's Gold
This bird sits and looks like a branch. It barely ever moves. We sat in the boat for around 20 minutes trying to get everyone to see it...it didnt move the whole time.
Poison Dart Frog
We found a few little frogs in the jungle. This one plays dead when its scared...and its stomach is bright blue.
Swimming
Swimming after piranha fishing and before looking for camin. I dont think my dad would consider this a good choice.
Yuka Bread
We went to visit a small community and we made yuka (a tropical root) bread with this women.
Alive Roommate
We had a boa constrictor and two bats on our roof. I was so happy we had mosquito nets around us, but still a little afraid of our friends. During the night one of the bats died and landed next to m... [more]
More Jungle Pets
There were tarantulas all over. This is one of the biggest tarantulas that hangs around the kitchen.

Looks like perhaps you stayed at Jamu Lodge? In any case, it looks very similar to everything I did when I went to Jamu Lodge!
