As of today I am officially done with my junior year of college and I am now on summer vacation (like this whole semester hasn’t been vacation). I can’t believe how fast this semester has gone! I also can’t believe how amazing this semester has been. I honestly can’t imagine a better study abroad program and I feel lucky to have been able to go on it. I thought about doing a “reflective blog” about my semester here but I can’t bear the thought of admitting it is over. Therefore I am going to skip that whole step and just say that I have met some really amazing people, learned more about biology than I thought possible, and seen some really wonderful places.
How was my internship?
My internship was amazing! The farm was beautiful, the people were great, the food was out of this world and I learned a lot. If you want more details email me and I can send my incredibly detailed and riveting internship paper. I did a lot of hard work but I also got to spend the weekends on the beach relaxing so life wasn’t too hard. However, on my last weekend on the beach I got my ipod, wallet, phone, and watch stolen. I was obviously bummed but I had been expecting this all semester, especially since I am one of the last people in my group to be robbed.
What next?
On Monday I head off for my South American adventure. Time ended up being a big issue when planning so I am unfortunately only getting to skim the surface of places I want to go in South America. However, I am getting to spend time in Peru and go to Macchu Picchu as well as Lake Titicaca. Eventually I am going to make it down to Chile to visit my friend Ben and my friend Jennifer. After Chile I am heading back to the US and to Glacier for the summer. I know, I lead a hard life.
Also, my friend Jesse is working on getting a job in online marketing. Check out his blog: www.boumanblog.com. He is a funny man!
