Wow. I really needed a good nightīs sleep. I slept until about 1130am then headed out to breakfast. My neighbor was up so I invited him to join me. Rob is from England and is in Montaņita for a month studying spanish and working on his surfing skills...the same original idea I had when I booked my trip! (I just need to get back on board the bandwagon).
Breakfast consisted of a couple eggs, juice, croissants, and some Tea...the usual.
After breakfast I hopped on the internet and played around in Mafia wars on facebook. Braeden found me so I joined him and Raya for a brunch...even though all I had was water to help me get ready for tonight.
For the rest of the afternoon, I napped in my hammock until about 7pm. I decided Iīve been kinda guilty when it comes to staying up with the video logues...so Iīm trying to get a lot of footage tonight of hotspots Iīve been to and like as well as catching the party atmosphere...who knows I may put a video together when I get home..."Beach Chicks Gone Wild." Around 7, I headed into town for dinner with Rob and a new guy from Switzerland, Morris. I picked up Braeden and Raya on the way and we decided on Machu Picchu for dinner...I had such great chicken cordon blue!
1 Litre beers are only $2 or less depending on where you buy them and a mojito from our amigo Edison is also only $2. Accomodations are reasonable at $15/night including a private bathroom with hot water. (No need for AC right now but November is supposed to be the month in which the temperature starts to increase). The only problem with this town is the lack of change. Bank machines generally only give $20 dollar bills and none of the stores/street venders/hostels/etc. are usually able to give change for even $5 dollar bills so when you get small bills you have to try to hang on to them (or eat/drink/buy enough to be able to pay with large bills). In Montaņita 1īs and 5īs rule...anything else is like Monopoly money (Who knew places like this existed!?!?!)
After dinner we headed to cocktail alley to start our night. After a few mojitos, the group started talking about picking up girls that night, so I suggested they do the "hola mamcita...vamos a mi casa" method. Apparently it works with 1 out of every 25 girls...I was dared to start it, so I did and it only took 1 time to find a girl to say yes!...but in jest.
I went to the liquor store and picked out some traditional ecuadorian liquor...a bottle for 4 bucks. I brought it back our table in cocktail alley and we started to consume! When the bottle was almost finished, 2 ecuadorian chics came up to the kiosk and ordered drinks. While they waited, Braeden offered them a shot of the liquor and they took it like champs. They sat down with us and started chatting us up. They were from Quito and were traveling around for their biology program. After about 20 minutes, one of them disappeared to tell the rest of her friends that the two of them were ok. About 5 minutes later the group came back to our kiosk...so now we had 6 chics hanging out with us and drinking. Morris, Raul, Rob, and I headed to the club with them to dance and somehow I ended up getting stuck with the grenade (the least attractive chic of the group)!!!
So Iīm taking one for the team and doing my wingman duty trying to keep my chic entertained as well as the other 2 girls who didnīt have guys to dance with. I started to notice the rest of my group started making out with their girls, so I was like oh no...Iīm going to have to do it to. Oh well, gotta take one for the team.
I started making out with the grenade and she started asking me where we were staying, etc...she was definitely down for continuing the party afterwards and Iīm sure I could convince her to get her friends back to our hostel...with a pool...too! BUT I couldnīt bring myself to do it. I pulled Rob aside who had a pretty cute chic and asked if he wanted to trade girls (mind you he was already making out with his chic pretty heavily too). He said he didnīt mind, so we planned a way to swap em out.
When we walked back into the club, I couldnīt find the grenade...PERFECT!!! So I grabbed Anna (formerly Robīs chic) and started dancing with her...great dancer. She told me her friend would kill her for dancing with me, but who cares?!?! After about 5 minutes the grenade came back from wherever she was and pulled Anna away from me and started dancing with me again...I have heard chics in Ecuador are pretty territorial and possessive and now I was witnessing it first hand...she had her claws in me and wasnīt about to let me go without a fight...geez.
She pulled me close to start making out with me again, so I passively obliged. After about 10 more minutes of dancing, I ran out of beer and headed to the bar for another. When I came back, the grenade was distracted, so I grabbed Anna away from Rob and started dancing with her again. In order to make sure we wouldnīt be separated, I moved in for the kill and started kissing her. After we started kissing, the grenade was no longer an immediate problem. One of the single chics from earlier started dancing with Rob, so it really looked like we were doing a good job at setting them up to bring them back to the hotel.
Raul disappeared sometime in the night and I asked the girls where he was. We walked to the deck rail and he was outside making out in some seats with his chic (who had a shaved head)...as long as they stayed there, that was cool....we could under no circumstances leave a man behind!!
Around 3am, after multiple hours of making out and feeling pretty good about our chances with the girls, the UNBELIEVABLE HAPPENED!!!!...All of a sudden they all peaced out leaving us at the club...saying they had to go home (back to Manta...about 30 min drive)l From the looks of it, the grenade was not too happy I was able to make the swap...and there was no way in hell anyone was getting any if she wasnīt, so she did what any disgruntled frind out...she cock blocked us all!!
So when they leave, we realize Raul is nowhere to be seen...and chics in ecuador are known to drug foreigners, so we headed back to the cabaņas to see if Raul had went to bed. We turned down the street to the rooms and saw a shadowy figure walking in the road, we yelled out Raul and he yelled back. Apparently he went looking for us when he couldnīt find us at the bar. We headed back into town to get some food and find a group of 4 girls...so everyone would have a fighting chance tonight! Low and behold, but who we we see drinking at the kiosks 30 minutes after they dipped out on us...yeah, those same girls. We just walked by like they didnīt exist.
Needless to say we couldnīt find any groups of girls to work so we decided to head back home to bed. On the way we ran into a donkey walking along the road...I caught it and took it for a ride, it was AWESOME!! A perfect ending to a wild night.
