so i´m not really sure why i´m in here right now and not on the beach. i am in my bathing suit, which is a start. today is a GORGEOUS beach day. but more of that later. yesterday was great. basically i went back to the hostel and read one hundred years of solitude and took care of taylor. there´s some bug going around that 4 people in our group have already had that includes stomach pains, fever, and chills. i´ve helped take care of three of them, so i´ll probably be next to get it. but whatevs. i´m hoping karma lets me avoid it. last night we went out dancing! i bought a new shirt and we went to the coco bar (where there was a shootout 2 weeks ago) and went salsa dancing. all the girls got asked to dance by locals, and when we wanted our boys to dance, we had to pull them onto the floor. it was super fun, though.
it´s gorgeous, hot, and the waves are huge today. we get to be on the beach until 5 tonight and then we go back to rio muchacho. i may not be able to write until i get to peru because of lack of internet, but we have one night in quito on friday night and then we get up early saturday morning to go to the amazon for a week. that´s all, folks!

Honey, i don't know what i envy more--the colors of the all the beads and jewelry, or the picture of all the food in the food market! You look wonderful and so do your friends. Thanks so much for posting pictures, more of you please!! And don't get sick; maybe your immune systems is strong because you haven't had meat in a while??? Well, a mom can hope.

kate! you sound like you're having so much fun! ahhh south america sounds so amazing. from your entries, you make me want to go to go.
although, i think merideth will probs disagree with my decision. south america's not africa, but she would have something to say about it ahahaha.
i'll have you know, i wear your shirt almost every week, and every time someone says "oh i like your shirt, where did you get it?" i ALWAYS say "its not my shirt, its my best friend kate's." :)
