Hmmmm welll not much pics but a few things will either make you cringe or sigh...
So coming up from Cuzco...a nice 21hr bus ride through mountains and desserts...past Nazca (note the giant highway built straight through the middle of one) on the coast and the panamerican highway north....
leaving the dessert lands of the westcoast we visited the excavated tomb of the king of Siam, wow how much Gold can you put in the ground....(sorry no photo´s gringos) but im sure you can google them...
Gold, silver, copper, turquoise, red corral amaising fabric still in ok condition...burried lamas (dismembered) the guard the wife the mistress all dug in together....hmmmm happy familys...(although a burried one)
when extracted the tombs had a toxic dust throughout as a booby trap...hehe cool huh...
In Lima we saw the new indiana Jones....and alot of the places we have just visited the same as a still smooth Harrison Ford at 60....
A boarder run to ecuador, the landscape grew from sand to fields of maize and Quinoa to green grasslands with abundant waterways and the emergence of trees that look like something the lorax should protect...
as we climbed up into the andes again small bundles of clouds clung to the side of mountains and the lack of rubbish makes it look like the waikato....with cows and rainbows....
Roads that just should´nt be where they are....
Next stop Vilcabamba...the valley of longevity full of foreigners that never leave....including a guy from NZ called Gavin...
too many gringos (travellers) getting wired on cactus juice and coca leaves mixed with hippys...(hehe i´m not one anymore) now i look like something from Jarhead....
We sat and read a few books each in a little cabin on the side of a river in the pouring rain accompanied by fireflys (ha we caught one and kept it in our room) and a jungle orchestra...ate the best canaloni in south america and drank the water that makes us live forever....sweet....
on the flipside there are other events that weren´t so supa...the man on the bus opened his pants and showed everyone his growth come cyst come twin wrapped in plastic then asked for money for the op....i allmost voluntarly offered him the contents of my stomach....ooooarghhhhh
the road with a thousand potholes and the bus driver that braked like mum..hehe.... the money machine that removed $200US from my bank account but gave me ziltch....humph... the music like something mixed between an eightys keyboad (go foxtrot) the sound of music and a south american cowboy on helium.....
In Cuenca we saw some cool real shrunken heads with facial hair and eyelashes all in place...kinda eerie but now they shrink sloth heads instead.... Now we are in Riobamba heading to a place called Banos (translated it means toilet) great huh and then to Quito via the mountains and valleys of tropical clean Ecuador....
Bubs doing great with all the kicking and swimming around....must be all the burritos....
We miss you all and all the fantastic little messages make us smile and dream about home...not too long now....
things are all good....the north is amaizing and we hope to get to the carribean sea in the next two weeks......
and pics with me and no dreads.....wellll they´ll appear at some stage...lol
take care and Love you All..... xoxoxoxox
love Kate Bub and Me...

Bugger about the money - it all sounds amazing though! Thinking of you guys lots and lots as we keep warm in front of the fire. It must be getting cold there too now. Enzos growing and eating like a teenager at the moment. He had 3 bowls of pasta and 5 fillets of fish for dinner on Saturday, he's turning into quite the man! Miss you guys. Take care xxx

mum
Hi guys All manic here as always, don't think you get any of my emails. Glad you are having such a neat time. Met Kate's mum and her neighbour the other day at the show. We had a little talk, but the show was sooo busy. I lost my phone also, so noone can ring me!Oh well that's normal I guess. Stress levels are at 100% right now with the house sale tomorrow and no where to go. Might have tolet the farm go too - soo its all bad news around here. Anyway your travels keep us all amused and our heads in the right space, so keep them coming. Great to hear someone out there is making the best of life and enjoying themselves, NZ is all gloom and doom at the moment and it is so depressing. Sign of the times, but you just got to keep going don't ya! Glad little babs is okay and Kate too, can't wait to see you with no dreds. Haven't told Betty yet, she would rejoice! I can't imagin my llamas all dried up in caves - not a good look, or men on busss's showing me things I didn't want to see! Such an education for you. I bet the girls are missing you both. At least you are missing all this cold weather, though the days have been so sunny. Liam had a lovely birthday and we had a blast at the farm with a lake picnic. Made him som overtrou from somem of your old pants. He thought he was Christmas. Little Enzo is growing so fast and enjoyed his weekend at the farm a few weeks ago. His first big trip with his Grandma and Grandad. Oh well if I have to sell the business and farm, I will be able to see them all the time as I will have nothing else to do or money left to do it! Dad can retire and enjoy life at long last. Sound pretty boring to me! Love you heaps and take care, keep well and love you both. Enjoy it for all of us stuck at home. Mum
