Andes Andes Andes

Bridge crossing the san juan river
Andes is another small town, that surrounds Medellin. My dad was born there, and my cousin sandra's family lives there. In Andes her family has serval coffee farms. We left with Beatriz, sandra's mom early saturday august 11, towards Andes. The road to Andes has serval pot holes, and it's not fully paved. There was also sections were we had to wait for several minutes while people cleared the road, because rocks from the mountain fell along the road, and blocked traffic.
Arrving in Andes we were immediately greeted by Beatrìz' dad, wh invited us to take a seat in the towns park. The park is the center of the town, more or less the place everyone hangs out. On the top there is a chruch and along the sides there are tables and chairs. it seems like everyone has there click where they hang out, and also the people they don't speak to. There vendors walking up and down selling pastries, and gum. And as soon as you sit down theres a server there ready to take your oder.
After, our coffee break in the park beatriz' brothers came with their suv's ( first person i see with an suv in colombia) to take us to Jardin (another town located 20 minutes away).
We arrived to a beautiful outside resturant, with canopy's of trees and flowers. It had a poun filled with trout, and several small children fishing.
our lunch was served with smashed fried plaintains , and salsa as an appetizer (for the record, its very good).
Once we left the resturant, we were taken to a near by farm that had been converted to a hotel. This hotel was beatuiful it had rows of avacodo plants, and mangos all in harvest. In the back porch was a barn with serval horses, and along the side were two pools, with a desending few of a mountain valley...gorgeous....It began to rain so fortunatley we were stuck at the beautiful hotel...but i didnt mind 😉
After it stopped raining we were taken to Betriz's brothers new farm. There we watched as he milked a cow, and gave us a taste. I couldnt drink it, but my mom did ...a good hour later I am sure to regret drining it , because she was stuck on the toilet...hehe
