muddy roadsunfortunately you often see this in Colombia, though must admit not in the big cities.
terribly bored of santa marta...really fed up...for Godēs sake...choosing to spend one year of my life here?? I mean it is beautiful , with Tyrona Park, El Rodadero especially in high season, but one year! come on! so after drifting, thinking and changing my mind thousands of times, I took the plunge: I will stay in Colombia, with all the ups and downs, disappointments and everything, I will give Colombia one more chance, but!! living in another city. In the meantime, a bit of travelling canēt hurt anybody...so off I goooo...on Monday, that was yesterday , I just woke up and went straight to internet, checking up some blogs and came up with this really phenomenal idea...why not go to Cartagena? canceled my English tutoring that I had for the day, called Cindy, the ex vice president of Finance to get me some contact in Cartagena and the next thing I know I was on the bus to Cartagena. well...the trip wasnēt all easy...as soon as we left Barranquilla heading towards Cartagena the police stopped the bus and urged everybody on board to get off. Routine they said. But the bus driver got so mad because he was running behind schedule

that the police started acting otherwise...and started arguing God knows why...and with all this, us, the passengers had to wait almost an hour in the sun, no shade, a few trees...and the heat was anyway dreadful... after 45 minutes we were finally allowed to go. Let me tell you that in the meantime as new soldiers with guns were approaching on motorbikes and as I was the only white girl around there, it didnēt feel very comfortable at all...especially that some soldiers started frisking the men for guns or drugs or God knows what...for them it was probably just routine, actually the one who seemed to be in charge of everything said from the very beginning that this was for our own benefit...ēes para la seguridad de ustedesē...yeah right! i thought in my mind ē what the fuck came into me this morning to wake up with this urge to leave Santa Marta? maybe it is destiny..maybe I am supposed to be in this wrong place at this wrong time ..ē the sight of the guns pointed towards the driver wasnēt easy to take and the verbal fight that followed...I was thinking....this guy must be really crazy to have the

guts and argue with the soldiers... especially at times like this..nobody is calm...for Godēs sake!! anyway, in a nutshell, nothing bad happened, as you can guess...well...I am writing everything down, arenēt I?... anyway, got to Cartagena with one hour delay...the guys were waiting for me at the terminal... grabbed a hot dog and went to Andresē place where I just left my backpack before heading for a night out...more coming soon...I am just to beat right now...kisses, stay tuned!!
