etait vraiment vraiment cool.
Ciao
Hey everyone. How's it going? I finally got to Bogota last night at around 9pm local time. Everything went super well. When I got out of the international terminal there were hundreds of people but I was able to quickly find Paula (my friend's girlfriend, who is also my friend now, who's house I am staying at). We had to cross the whole city to
get to her house (she lives in the North-East and the airport is in the South-West). We spent the night just chatting and unpacking and I was exhausted so I went to bed.
This morning we woke up around 7am because Paula had a Philosophy exam. I went with her to her university, la universidad de la sabana. To get to the university you have to take two collectivos (small buses). It is a super nice school with a beautiful campus which I just walked around and read a book while Paula was doing the exam. To me, simply reading a book in a new environment is exciting. Anywho, after her exam we took another collectivo to Zipaquira. It's a small, cute little town with nothing really to do except but walk-around and visit the salt mine. I would highly recommend doing a day trip to see the mine because it is really worth it (15000COP entrance fee).
After the mine visit we were starving but we knew that Paula's mom had prepared carne desmechada con patacones (minced super-tender beef in a sort of sauce served on a bed of fried plantains) so we only bought a bag
of chips... CHICKEN flavour haha. That's a first. Anyways, waiting for the carne was totally worth it because it was muy sabroso. So now we are just chilling in Paula's house and we may go out tonight.
Don't be shy... if you have my e-mail, send me something!
Ciao

Finally got to your blog. Looks like your having a fabulous time. The main thing is staying safe and happy....and in that order! We just got back from Jim & Phan's bbq from up north. There were so many people. The weather was fabulous. Made a huge bonfire. Went to the Danesco sale to look for some stuff for Chris. Mel is studying for her exams. Keep up the blog.
