Cueca is the national dance of Chile. In the dance the man is the rooster and woman the hen and they play a game of chase. It is not what you typically think of when you think of Latin dancing but at our Cueca class the other day we had a blast. As a treat, a woman who watched our whole class asked to dance with someone from our group. Chris was the lucky guy and he really stepped up to the plate. Hahahaha!
It is hard to believe we only have one week left in this city. No sad, just seemed to go by very quickly. We will be meeting the rest of the volunteers with the Ministry of Education tomorrow and next week while we train with them and then it is off to our separate communities and our students. We are very much looking forward to the transition to a more permanent house and our own rooms. We are lucky because we will have the support from each other all year and the support of our awesome field director, Allyson. We had a end of WorldTeach training asado (Chilean BBQ) at Allyson and Rad's house on Friday
and it was all food and dancing. We will miss Rad as our orientation assistant but she will continue to be our hook up in Santiago which is simply rad!
