On our 7th day of traveling we found ourselves back in Santiago. I got up to shower and get ready to go on the city tour. I went up to eat breakfast with Catie. They served it on the 17th floor. It was a delicious buffet. After breakfast we boarded our bus for a tour of the city. We drove around on the bus for quite a while. We got out and walked in a plaza a little bit. We went into the main post office where there was a little museum. We happened to drive by as they were doing the changing of the guards at the Presidents house. The night before I borrowed Jess A´s little screwdriver and took apart my camera to try and get the sand out and fix it. It didn´t seem like it worked but I grabbed it anyways when we left for the city tour. Lo and behold it magically started working! Yay for not having to pay $40 to have it fixed! (The same thing happened to Hayley´s camera a few weeks earlier at the beach)
I was really happy that I could take pictures! The changing of the guards was pretty neat

changing of the guards to me. I guess they do it every 2 days. It didn´t seem like such a big deal like is Washington D.C. but it was still neat to see. After the city tour we returned to the hotel and had about an hour or two to eat lunch. I went to a place that our guide reccomended with Christina and Alison. It was really cheap and delicious. I had chicken and rice and we got a banana for dessert. After we ate we went to Starbucks because that was Christina´s goal. I wanted to go to Subway too but the line was too long and we didn´t have time. At Starbucks I got a mocha frappauchino. It took forever. We waited for quite awhile. We thought we were going to be late for the bus to the vineyard. It turned out that Starbucks was really close to our hotel and we had just taken a really long way to get there and the bus wasn´t even there yet.
We headed to the Concha y Toro vineyard. We watched a short video and then took a short tour. I thought they would show more of the wine making process but they
just show you the plants and then where they keep the barrels. One big barrel holds 300 bottles of wine! We got to taste some of the wine and we got to keep our fancy wine glasses as a souvenir. I liked the white wine we tasted but not so much the red. It was a lot of fun though. The vineyard was quite aways out of the city so we had to entertain ourselves on the bus 😉
After the vineyard my plan was to take a nap but that never happened. I was just too awake. I went up to the 17th floor to see the boys room. It had an amazing view. I was on the 4th floor, not fair. After that Christina and I went on the computers for a while. I went back to my room and later Christina, Hayley and I walked to SUBWAY!!! I got a footlong bmt sub with doritos. It was delicious and it made my tummy very happy. I saved half of it for later. We went back to the hotel and I got ready to go out. We were all going to hang out in the boys room and
then go to a club or something later. When we went to Buenos Aires earlier in the trip we met 2 girls for Santiago. One of the girls, Caitlin, came and hung out with us at our hotel. Our whole group was up on the 17th floor and we had a ton of fun. Later we went to a bar in the Bellavista neighborhood and ended up staying there the rest of the night. Later I took a taxi home with Christina and Jess A.
