Amigos!

I left San Pedro last thursday 12th of June after a good night out. After a dreadful trip in the bus I finally arrived Fridaymorning 7am in La Serena, which turned out to be a very boring town, so I left the very next Sunday to visit Santiago.
Santiago, wonderful Santiago.. I really love this city for its organisation although it´s enormous. The well-planned infrastructure of Santiago with its delightful metro-system make my stay here a blessing and really easy. I can go to many places in the city in a really short notice and just for 380 pesos.
Sundaynight I arrived in Santiago and took the metro to the nearest station to Barrio Bellavista where I found myself a expensive but wonderful hotel and good central point to visit the city from. Monday, a sunny day, I visited the centre of Santiago with its plaza de armas and many shoppingroads which are continuously crowded with people and they treated me on a typical Chilean strike, on the plaza de armas there were a lot of people protesting against educational reforms.
Tuesday, I visited Las Condes with its high development rate. This barrio is the business-district of Santiago from

with protesting teachers.
here I walked down a busy road to Provedencia which actually is a really boring area, so I decided to go back to see the match Holland - Rumania which, unfortunately, wasn´t broadcasted, the sportchannel decided that France - Italy was more interesting.. Eventually, when I came back in my hotel I saw the match anyway.
Wednesday, I went to Valle Nevado which is a 1 to 2 hours drive from Santiago centre and one of the Ski-centres surrounding Santiago. Despite the snow falling down constantly I had a wonderful time up there in the mountains, Skiing for 5 hours and just forgetting where I actually was. Having lunch in a loungy canteen-meets-restaurant kind of bar I got a free Pisco sour of the bartender to whom I was talking.
Thursday: At the moment I´m sitting in Barrio Brasil and it´s raining in Santiago, so I first visited a free museum: Museo arte precolombino which turned out to be quite interesting. Hmz, I haven´t got a clue what I´ll be doing today, rainy days are terrible.. I have the bad habit to go to a cafe and start drinking and spending money which I already do to much here in Santiago.. It´s too expensive if I consider my budget, however, I don´t regret anything what I´m doing here, it´s a wonderful time!
