UshuaiaA view on our way out of town to do a hike.
We have been very busy hiking at the End of the World, then making our way to Chili to do an 8 day trek at Torres Del Paine, then checking out the glaciers near El Calafate in Argentina. Now we are trying to work our way north. Here is the rest of Ushuaia......L
Ushuaia was one of our favorite stops yet. We really enjoyed the day hike as well as the over all atmosphere of the town. We met a lot of really great travelers, some of who were off to Antartica! The pictures, videos, and stories sound amazing. Some day..... We also enjoyed the meseum in Ushuaia very much. It was an old prison, that was built in Ushuaia because of its isolation. The focus was on rehabilitation and each prisoner went our each day to work and learn a trade. The prison no longer exits and is now a prison, but it is full of information about Ushuaia, famous prisoners, other prisons in the world, Antartica, and the lighthouse at the end of the world.
Now we are moving back North...L
The beginingEllen at the start of our day hike. I forget the name, but it was outstanding.
Dog SleddingOur first stop was walking through a dog sled lodge.
Tim at Lago EzmereldaWe had a snack when we reached the beautiful Lago Ezmerelda (Emerald Lake) named after its awesome color.
A crackWe found a bit of a crack while we were crawling along. Donīt worry we were not on it long.
MeltingA view of the melting glacier
SleddingEnjoy the snow because we hear we are really missing loads of snow in WI. We had fun sledding down parts of the mountain.
Tim drinkingApparently Tim is better at this than me. However, Iīm not sure what qualifies a good stream drinker.

Hey El & Tim. We got your postcard-thanks! I'm glad you were thinking of us. We're going sledding tomorrow so I'll make sure to think of you, too! I love the pics and can't wait to see you both and find out about your adventures! We have so much snow right now that I can't even see over the banks at intersections, I'm really ready for Spring. Speaking of springs, I hope that water you were drinking is clean.....all I can think about is the parasites you could be picking up-sorry, it's the biologist in me! Miss you, have fun, Glowski
