After the Buenos Aires trip there was lots of things to do and catch up on. Tuesday we had class with Professor Triana from 10 to 12. I got a ride to the University with Marcela. We arrived around 9 am. I needed to finish up my autobiography essay and print it so I had my computer with me. The students were still protesting and had taken the Arts and Humanities building so none of us could print our papers. We spent the class hour talking about our weekends and many other things. We got an assignment from our book. After class I went running with Trevor, Hayley and Catie. Trevor and I did some sprints. It was kind of fun. It was about 1:30 when we left campus. I decided to go try to pick up my ID card since I hadnīt been able to before and the place is near my bus stop. I arrived around 1:50 (they close at 2). I was preparing myself for it not to be ready again and me having to figure out what to do but it was ready! All I had to do was sign a paper and check the card over
to make sure it was correct. I was really glad! I didnīt have to wait too long for the bus which made me happy because my backpack was getting really heavy with my computer in it.
I got home just in time for lunch. Marcelaīs mom, Rosa, was there. Marcela was leaving for London the next day. I did some more homework and then talked on skype with Alicia and my parents. Marcelaīs brother and nephew were at our house to say good-bye to her. I sat in the kitchen with them for a long time. I did some more homework and then went to bed.
Wednesday we had class with Professor Triana at 10 again. We still couldnīt get into the building to print our papers. Marcela was gone when I left for school and her flight left at noon so I never really got to tell her goodbye. I sent her a text so she knew I didnīt forget about her. In class we went through the book activities and then talked about our upcoming trip to San Pedro de Atacama. It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. We are even flying. Crazy.

Everyday sounds jam packed full of activity but it will be a great week.
After class I went running with Hayley. After that, I walked with Catie and Hayley to the Registro Civil to get their ID cards. They got theirs with no problems. Then we walked back towards the plaza Peru since we had class from 3 to 5. We went to Treinta Express to eat because Hayley wanted empanadas. I ordered a chicken salad. It was really good. I havenīt eaten a real big salad with dressing and chicken since Iīve been here. The empanadas did look delicious though. We walked back across campus to our class. The class wasnīt too exciting. We have a lot of problems focusing because we are in front of computers and we just want to surf the internet. We got an assignment and we had time to work on it. We had to find a news article and summarize it with at least 15 sentences using things that we learned in the first lesson. It wasnīt due until Friday.
After class I went home. The Nana had food for me. It was fish and she fried up some homemade french fries. It was yummy. I probably should have been doing homework but I really wanted to watch Greyīs Anatomy so I did that instead. Catie found a website were you can watch it for free which makes me very happy. They also have Gossip Girl on there so I watched a little bit of that. It was pretty unproductive night. I wrote out my postcards though!
Thursday we had class from 9 to 12 and 12 to 2. This was only the second time I had been to the first Thursday class because I had missed it the week before and it was canceled all the weeks after the first week of school. The class is in a building way up on the hill. I managed to find it again without much trouble. We waited for a long time before our teacher showed up. It was probably 9:40. She didnīt think that we were going to show up because all the other students were protesting and not going to class. She had decided just to check and see if we were there. Since we were so far behind already she wanted to have class but she had to take her daughter to daycare first. She finally came back. We learned about the Mapuche people and listened to a song and tried to figure out the lyrics. We were supposed to turn in a paper for that class also but we werenīt able to print it. She said we could just e-mail it. After that class we had a little break since the next class really doesnīt start until 12:20. I mailed my postcards and got a a diet coke to keep me awake in the next class.
The next class was our class with Omar. I finally got my package from my mom! yay! She sent it 3 weeks ago. Omar spent the first part of class talking about why the students were protesting. After that he went through an assignment from the week before. I was in Buenos Aires so I didnīt have it so I just listened. Omar told us about how our class schedule would work. Our schedule is going to change a little bit again and we will be switching professors in some classes. Iīm not sure if I like this yet but Iīll give it a chance. After class I ran with Hayley. After running, Hayley, Alison, Catie and I walked to the police station to register our ID cards. We are supposed to go back after we got them but I think a lot of the other students have forgotten. I took a collectivo home after that.
I ate lunch and then did homework for awhile. Everyone had talked about going out Thursday night so I was waiting to hear from someone. I finally texted Catie and I was going to meet her and a bunch of other people at the University. I took the collectivo to the university and ended up meeting up with Sonni, Sam and Lizzy before Catie and the others got there. Catie was supposed to call me when they got there but she never did. Sonni, Lizzy, Sam and I decided just to go to Lizzyīs house. We hung out there for awhile and then went to a bar with Brad and Evin. It was pretty fun but I ended up not feeling well and going home. I realized when I got home that I had forgotten my purse at Lizzyīs house so I didnīt have my keys. I felt horrible because I had to buzz into the house and it was late.
