Brazil Travel Blogs

Background: Following three centuries under the rule of Portugal, Brazil became an independent nation in 1822. By far the largest and most populous country in South America, Brazil overcame more than half a century of military intervention in the governance of the country when in 1985 the military regime peacefully ceded power to civilian rulers. Brazil continues to pursue industrial and agricultural growth and development of its interior. Exploiting vast natural resources and a large labor pool, it is today South America's leading economic power and a regional leader. Highly unequal income distribution remains a pressing problem.

Halsoinformation aer ocksa en stor del av hjalparbetet. so while dave is diving into the shallow end of the pool (ouch, but not serious but ouch enough) I´m off on a romantic and breathtaking walk to a remote water fall.....after arriving and feeling all in need of a moment, I sit in under the over hang in a small cave....gazing at my new american ´friend´...since removed and regretted, memories are precious to us... and enjoying the persistant fly bys of a truely massive bat...a local passes by and starts screaming at me...eh? turns out, his anger and the bats restlessness is due to the cobra getting quite pissed behind [View Full Entry]

Lençois  South America » Brazil » Bahia » Lençóis
Ok after a month travelling its about time that we added a new journal !! We flew (very posh and not at all traveller like - we know!) to Salvador and after spending a day or two mooching round the Pelorinho - headed for some tranquility at Lençois. Lençois is the gateway to the Chapada Diamantina National Park - which is a vast expanse of waterfalls , rock formations , canyons and tabletop mountains. Lençois itself is a fabulous little town with very old colonial architecture - all of the buildings are made of stone - and the area has now [View Full Entry]

Breath taking views and experiences!

Djupt inne i Amazonas djungel

************* First Part (to spoil the surprise, there will be three!) There is an itch under my skin. Not too deep down but just far enough in not to be sated with conventional scratching techniques. (You scratch an itch but never itch a scratch - ouch - I have become Gary. I really feel pain I just imageine. Gary did you go ouch?) I wish I did really become Gary. Then I would be able to make this damn itch go away, conventionally. And I cant find a brillo pad in this rain-forsaken country. I even invert it. "Pad Brillo" I [View Full Entry]
