firstly apologies for the delay in posting... but its hard to find the time to write this up!!
we went from rio up to manaus which is a town in the amazon. from there we went to a floating lodge actually in the jungle... and i think i speak for all of us when i say that we had the best time! we stayed there for 2 nights and we slept in hammocks and 3 of the walls of the lodge were open, was very different!
we met sooo many nice people from all over the world and when u start talking to them its like u have known them for years! the guides we had were fantastic and could speak english and the food was ok... they prepared veggie food for us especially but always practially the same thing and soaked on vinegar!
we went piranha fishing... which we didnt do cos it would hurt the fishies! but that was fun watching the others do it as they were blokes and were being macho about how many they could catch!! we went for a trek in the jungle... and i have never been bitten by so many
mosquitoes :( even worse than it was in india! we went aligator spotting in the night, which was very scary and the guide actually jumped in to get one out!!
on the last day we went to a localīs home, which was pretty cool- was basically a hut on the beach! but the one thing i remember is the heat. oh my god... i will never again complain about any hot weather i experience cos this was the hottest i have ever felt!
so that was out trip to the jungle... more to follow!
view of the amazonthis was our first glimpse of the forest and river when we were flying to manaus... amazing, huh?
