A back dated entry with good memories and photos of beaches, beaches and more beaches (no wonder this blog is named LeGrandBleu

).
A memorable short trip. The summary: five days, four people, one great friend (that is you, Clarissa

), one rented car, one b&b that looked nice and well located on the internet - and just on the internet (oh the miracle of photoshop), loads of shrimp, one dead spider (keep reading), wonderful beaches, an incredible vibe, beautiful people, sun, sunglasses, sunscreen, sunburns (what's new), photos and more photos, and unforgetable moments.
Florianópolis is an island in the south of Brazil and it's also the capital of Santa Catarina state. Btw, did you know that Brazil has three states whose capitals are an island? The other two are São Luis, MA and Vitória, ES.
Back to the trip: I've always wanted to go to Florianópolis, aka Floripa or Ilha da magia (island of magic). And it didn't disappoint me: what a lovely place! I can't tell the best beach: Rosa, Joaquina, Mole, Ingleses, Jurerê, Campeche, Canasvieiras, Daniela, ? All were amazing. The big waves atracts surfers, and the dunes of Joaquina beach are great for sandboarding.
And also for having the wheels of the car stuck in sand!
The four of us were exausted by our jobs (except for Clarissa

), and that 5 days break came in perfect time. It couldn't be better: the sun was shining, the weather was sweet. Our routine consisted basically in waking up, picking in the map a beach to go, spend the days siping coconut water, catching up the gossip, laying on our sarong, and then going out for a meal, which consisted basically in shrimp - it's so cheap there!
We also went to Ferrugem beach, located in a city 80 km away from Floripa called Garopaba. Nothing against it, but I liked Floripa much better.
Floripa was also where I did one of the bravest things in my life. Who knows me well knows what I'm talking about. I'm not choosy at all, but I can't cope with certains things. Childhood trauma maybe? The therapists usually blame something that happened when we were kids. I can't remember of anything though.
Anyway, I was in the b&b room alone and was going to take a shower to meet my travel buddies. When I enter
Rosa beachI think this was my favourite beach. Not sure, because all the others were sooo gorgeous as well!
the bathroom without my havaianas on, guess what I spot just in the middle of the shower? A huge black spider. Seriously, it was huge. And hairy! Ohhh nooo!!! I have no idea what type it was, or if it was poison or not. I just knew I had to kill it. Otherwise I wouldn't sleep for the rest of the trip just thinking that the spider could be in our room and attack us at any moment!
The thing is I have a sort of fobia of big insects. So I don't know where the courage came from, but I went back, got my pink havaianas, and in a quick move I smashed it hardly. That made me sooo proud of myself! After that, I checked every corner of the room to see if that was something strange there, closed the windows to avoid unwelcome guest, and managed to shower. Three cheers for me!
Floripa is a place that I seriously consider moving to in the near future, as it offers what I'm looking for to call a home: medium city in the coast, good weather, cool breeze from the ocean, good quality of life and vibe,
infrastructure... The time now is to take decisions, changes are happening and I don't know exaclty where life will lead me to now... But Floripa is not a bad idea at all

.
Lazy days...While sleeping, you burn 63 calories per hour. Which means that with 8 hours of sleep you burn the same amout of calories you'd burn running quickly for 1 hour. Not bad, uh?
View from our roomThe b&b didn't have a good localization, neither was as nice as their website says. But we have a view from the sands on Joaquina beach :)
