18th december - 26th December
Florionapolis and ilha de Santa Catarina had been whispered on every traveler´s route. arriving at the airport, we were greeted by a black african guy with dreads who set us up in an appartment for us 5 boys to reak havoc. the appartment was left as though it had been bulldozed by mammoth pigs on steroids. and we never mentioned the broken window that one of us used to break into the appartment whilst the other 4 were passed out somewhere else on the island!
so the boy band:
Elliot- Canadian, never short of something to say (inevitably in reference to the now revered movie BORAT). unable to fathom how one person can get so burnt and peel after 2 hours in the sun! he was constantly peeling his skin off and dangling it in front of us. no doubt some would have provided nutrition in one of our meals at some point!
Ober- its like Robert, but without the R and T. now say try saying it! funny american guy. even funnier after a few drinks. being a blonde guy, the girls would

you can´t visit Brazil without admiring all its tourist attractions!always be responsive! i tell u, blonde guys in Brazil are gods! he definitely wins the award for funniest story on trip: after waking up one day in BA (later) on new years eve. he is so drowsed from the previous night, that he books a $US400 flight to north of Brazil. then realises that he had booked it in no state at all and the travel agent had closed. then progresses to the airport to cancel it hours before the flight. this is all on new years eve, where he would be landing in a city where he knows no one and has no accomodation! Ober- your one in a million! (sorry to embarass with that story, but had to be told!)
Sherif- Candian guy who has the sunglasses that i want!!! please please! i want those sunglasses! hehehe never short of a cigarette (smokes more than any of us and still claims that he doesnt smoke back home!).
Steve- team Mexico! this guy looks like a drug lord! he was teh invisible man! one minute we are all talking and chatting, next minute, we ask 'wheres Steve?'. he´s houdini reincarnated! and he somehow just happens to

We stayed in Barra do Lagoa (Ober- i can still hear you singing it!!!). beautiful beaches with great surf. we visisted the nearby beaches like Paraia mole and the nearby nudie beach. we rented a car and headed north of the island and came witness to some spectacular beaches. The island is a voyeur´s dream. beautiful people, tanned bodies. and the brazilian ass! the fame is based on truth and i can vouch for it!!
Most of our days were spent chillin on the beaches, occasional surf 'session'...yes, i can get up on a board. dont ask me how much more than that i can accomplish!!
The nights were inevitably filled with hardcore dancing! one club that has to be mentioned for the benefit and likely frustration of every guy that passes through Florianopolis- EL DIVINO - meaning the divine in Portugese. i have never ever ever seen so many beautiful women in the one place

Zach and BOb...chefs with a mission! in my life!!! unfortunately most of them wont give you the time of day. they dont know what theyre missin!!! hehehe
Florianopolis had so many great memories, not only for the great beaches and parties but also the people i met. not only the great guys i shared an appartment with, but also the cool americans we spent xmas eve and dinner with. awesome BBQ, great food, drinks, awesome company and a barrel of laughs! and a few medical problems (you know who u are!) all whilst overlooking the crashing waves from the porch.
Then it was the long journey to Montovideo!
