Ok its been a while since my last blog. Sorry about that. I still havent found my camera cable, so i cannot upload any of the hundreads of amazing pictures i have taken. I am having a lot of fun. My portuguese is getting much better. I am taking lessons on skype and of course trying to falar (speak) as much as i can. I have met a lot of really cool people, and have basically been traveling back and forth from Rio to Saquarema. Some of the fun things ive done since my last blog.... 1.Lots of bicycling in Rio. I have the city figured out. What i have figured out is that the drivers are nuts. 2.Drove a scooter around Rio. Noe let me borrow his scooter and said to me "take it anytime ... read more

Today in Brazil is the day of the dead. I guess the Brazillians celebrate the dead. Similar to Halloween. Last night was very big party in the city of Saquarema. I rode my bicycle down to the city and connected with an american that i met at a party two nights ago. Charlie is from Chicago. Very cool guy who knows many brazillians. We had a great time last night and i understand why now they call today the day of the dead. I am feeling like im very close to death. A lot of beer and Johnny Walker lastnight. I have these pictures posted of my day riding around saquarema. I had to buy batteries for my camera and beer for my belly, so I think that i can survive in brazil now. I speak ... read more

Ok, ok Nayse got me to paint a couple of flower pots of hers today after our shopping adventures. Let's see the weather has been nice but not amazing, just not as much sun as I would like. Really who cares, right? It is above 75 degrees and Im a block away from the beach. Zero complaints. Oh yea, I really want to apologize to everyone because I have gone back and read some of my blogs and my grammar is atrocious, and so is my spelling. My god what was I thinking... I should be hung. So, if your offended in any way by bad grammar, spelling, offensive comments or stupidity, please be advised and consider unsubscribing from my blog. Anyways lets get back to the good stuff. Yesterday we went shopping. Just for food. ... read more

The last couple of days have been a bit frustrating. This is simply because I think I am the only person in this town that speaks english at all. My goal here was to learn Portuguese. I am trying, and to some degree I am picking up a few words here and there. I sure study a lot. What happens is every time I am put in a situation to try to speak to someone it seems as though someone has tied a rope around my tongue...with a boat anchor attached to the other end. Arrgh. To my credit I can speak better Portuguese than most people here can speak english. This place does totally rock though. Yesterday went to the beach, did a little biking, and did a little studying. It seems the beach here ... read more

Ive been doing a whole lot of nothing at all. Beach, BBQ, beer, back to the beach. This is the life. Nayse's bed and breakfast is just perfect. It has a very mellow laid back vibe throughout. It has 10 rooms plus nayse has an apartment that is above the breakfast area. Really nice. Yesterday I went to the local street market with Nayse and Momma. They picked up a load of fruit and veggies, all fresh just picked from the locals. After that we headed off to the beach. Only a block away. The sand is really nice and weather just as good. The thing that is cool about the beaches here is they have plastic tables and chairs and beach guys come around and sell beer and things to eat. As they say do ... read more

My last day in DC was great. I did plenty of sight seeing and a whole lot of walking. Janesse may my last day in the states very enjoyable. We got to see a few more museums, the declaration of independence, the national aquarium, and enjoy a good lunch. I am glad I got to hang in DC for a couple of days. Ok, ok Enough of that, I am now in Saquarema. Nayse and her momma were at the airport about a minute after I made it through customs. We drove through Rio heading about 2 hours north to the small beautiful surf town of Saquarema. I met up with Nayse's father Nuson who I really like a lot. We are teaching each other how to speak English/Portuguese and doing it over quite a few ... read more

The final installment, the last part of the chapter, the end. Well I am sure that most of you are glad, you don´t have to read anymore inane comments written by a pair of illiterate goofballs or look at pictures taken from the wrong angle of two tall pale people. We are less than a week away from coming home, so it won´t be long before we all meet up again and the history of the past twelve months are swapped. The babies that have been born, the newly engaged folk and the tales that could not be told over the web. I feel as the creative energy has slipped through my grasp, so the final outing will be short and forgetable, a little like Duncs intimate encounters. Also I must apologise to all of the ... read more
