It wasn’t until my third work trip to Brazil that I got around to spending some time travelling beyond the area where we were working. The quantity of photos I’ve added to this blog, way more than usual, and these are only the photos from my third visit, confirm that I really should have spent more time travelling around. Brazil was unexpectedly great. I don’t know why I say unexpectedly because I had visited Brazil in pre-blogging days and really enjoyed it. Nun ist er auch schon wieder vorbei, unser kleiner Aufenthalt im Paradies. Schade, dass die schönsten Dinge scheinbar immer am schnellsten zu Ende gehen… :( Gestern sind wir extra ganz früh aufgestanden, damit wir schon um 6 an der Baía dos Golfinhos sein können, um die Ankunft von etwa 300 Delfinen zu beobachten. Denn die kommen jeden Morgen nach der Jagd dorthin um sich auszuruhen. Die Bucht selbst darf man nicht betreten, aber es gibt oberhalb der Bucht einen guten Aussichtspunkt, wo auch immer Leute vom örtlichen Delfinprojekt sind, Ferngläser verteilen und interessante Dinge erzählen. Leider konnten wir nur eine Stunde da bleiben, weil wir noch einen Ausflug für den Tag gebucht hatten und der sollte plötzlich schon um 8 losgehen. Tag 2 auf Fernando de Noronha und ich habe noch immer das Gefühl, mich in einem wunderbaren Traum zu befinden. Fotos und Beschreibungen haben uns nicht zu viel versprochen: wir befinden uns im Paradies! Und ich glaube meine Worte werden unsere bisherigen Erlebnisse nur sehr grob beschreiben können… Gestern haben wir gleich nach Ankunft in unserer Pousada den ersten Ausflug gestartet und zwar eine Bootstour die halbe Insel entlang inkl. Frisch gegrilltem Fisch und Sonnenuntergang auf dem Meer. Was wir vorher nicht wussten: Der Ausflug beinhaltete ein Schnorchelerlebnis der besonderen Art. An einem Brett mit Schlitz zum Festhalten, was mit einem ca. 8m langen Seil am Boot befestigt war, wurde man hinter dem Boot hergezogen. Dank der Schnorchelausrüstung konnte man dann getrost die ganze Zeit das Gesicht im Wasser lassen und die fantastische Unterwasserwelt auf sich ... read more

I´m going to the airport in a minute to change my ticket to stay here an extra day. If I don´t , I´ll have an extra day in Olinda that I don´t really need, whereas one extra day here will be excellent. What a fantastic day yesterday was. I saw the other side of George: the skipper of the yacht. I realised that all these days hanging around, but I hadn´t seen one of the most important parts of the guy´s personality. It´s like knowing me without a guitar! The day looked a bit cloudy again but we decided to go for it anyway. We took a little dinghy out to the sailboat about 11:00am. What a beauty! I´m only doing that to fit in with my buddies! I know what day it is, honest! It´s the day after I recorded the now 13 songs onto my camera, used up the entire memory card, and had to start transfering them to a flash drive I brought with me. The weather has been more than dubious here for the last three days, so the fact that I´ve been sitting in George´s house, jamming these songs (the 13 songs collectively have now got a title coutesy of George - Anum Cara. It means ´´Soul mates´´) , watching BBC, eating a great British breakfast the other day, then chicken and chips, including chip butties (french fry sandwiches, for the unitiated) yesterday, is absolutely fine.
