Taking a taxi that costs 15 reais we got dropped off at Charm Iguassu hostel, there was a room for us and so we booked a night a bit expensive, $45 for a double, we decided to splurge a bit. We wanted to see the England vs Andorra futbol match so we went out looking for a bar which we cant find, we did not get the directions right from the girl receptionist, we asked around and of course we got nothing, they speak Portuguese and between the 2 of us we got nothing! I spoke to them in Spanish and somehow got across, we found the bar about 5 blocks out from a supermarket, they were just setting up after all it is only 4pm, they accomodated us, we sat in the middle of the room while they move chairs around, we have chopps, draft beer here and enjoyed the game of Netherlands and Norway cause it was not on, the guys there did their best to find the telecast but we said its ok, we will wait. They kept bringing beers one after the other so before we get int debt we paid and left hurriedly to come back
later.
Bought a few beers at the supermarket and snacks and went back to the hostel to chill then got ready to go out, the Brazil vs Paraguay game starts at 9pm so we just made it to the sports bar, most tables were reserved and so we found one that is not near the doors, ordered heaps of booze and some snacks and enjoyed the game as well as people watching, lots of hot girls here, welcome to Brasil we thought!!
After the game in which Brasil won we went back skipping the 70s and 80s music after the game. Next morning we took the bus to the Nacional Parque Foz do Iguassu, the Brazilian side of the world famous Iguassu falls, this side is where you can have a better view of the grandeur of the falls, very impressive, we followed the pathways and before you know it we are at the edge where you can see on the other end the Argentine side, The different waterfalls have names but I could not remember a single one of them. We spent a good 4 hours there then went back. One unfortunate thing that happened I got stung
by a bee while having lunch, outdoors at the park lots of bees flying about one got into my fanta can and as I try to drink it stung my upper lip, ouch!! I spat on the table, fanta, bee and all! It hurts but did not swell up until later in the night. We took the bus to take us to Argentina, the bus stop is near our hostel, took ages for it to come,we got dropped off at the immigracion, it was a 5 minute process to get a stamp out but the bus did not bother to wait for us so we were given a ticket stub and the driver said 30 minutes a bus comes again, so we waited, waited and waited, one hour later and it is getting dark around past 5pm, a bus came but would not take us because it was full, we tried to hitch hike to the border no one stops! Finally the guy working at the border helped us find a taxi that will take us all the way to town in Puerto Iguassu for 30 reais, split between the four of us, we met 2 girls needing to get
across as well, they will be staying at Bambu Hostel in Puerto so we dropped them there.
