The first view...The first view...The first view...

(of the smaller !!! Argentian side)
Hi everyone...

So it,s our last day in Rio and indeed South America...and since it´s still raining in Rio (song title?)...weve decided to camp in the Internet cafe and catch up on a few blogs. Never mind the rain though...we´ve had the most fantastic brilliant superb time...thoroughly recommended to anyone lucky enough to have the chance. Looking forward to getting home though.. Steve has already preordered a Vindaloo from the Lucknow for Thursday evening. Looking forward to seeing everyone (you know who you are) at the Xmas do at the weekend...

Maybe some last comments from you on this or the Rio blog to follow ??

Anyway...our guide book says..If you think Iguazu falls are simply Niagra in the South...then think again. Niagra is but a mere drop in the ocean compared to Iguazu.

Quite a statement..especially given neither of us had even heards of Iguazu before this trip. But boy were they correct.

The falls are on the border of Argentina and Brazil, and are quite simply stunning. They are surrounded by beautiful rain forest and they have built a system of trails and walks that literally take you above, below and virtually in to the falls, and there are thousands of gorgeous butterflys everywhere that like to land on you...Its an amazing place.

We also took the boat trip INTO the base of the falls...and when in Brazil we took a helicopter trip for Lou´s birthday...what fun.

Anyway...enough of the talk..its all about the views..

Steve and Lou xx

This walk way was actually half way up the brazilian side on a ledge, that then went out to a view of the main falls...the power was awesome

Hi
Just wanted to wish you both a very happy Christmas and a very merry new year as I will not be going to the Christmas weekend this year, I will be too busy sorting my stuff out for my trip to South Africa. I guess the next time I will see you will be when you get back from India unless you are free for a quick drink on the 20th Dec. S x

Apparently a little known byelaw in Lincolnshire prohibits any mention of visits to South America. Sadly, we will have to find something else to talk aboutthis weekend!! Have a good flight home and see you Friday Nicky
