Fortaleza is a northeastern city in Brazil alongside the coast, whereas for most of us, that means cold, in the southern hemisphere, north means heading towards the equator and the hotter areas of the country. Fortaleza is one of those cities that is located just a few hundred miles from the equator, neither really being in the north or south of the world, simply the center of it. This very popular and tropical paradise additionally sits on the coast, on a river delta with many magnificent beaches and natural deltas throughout. There really aren’t all that many areas on the earth where this combination is happens.
