Playing with Perspective!Playing with Perspective!Playing with Perspective!

I hola all men in the palm of my hand ...see?
This has been one of the highlights of my trip... el solar de Uyuni. Uyuni is a little po-dunk town in the south of Bolivia (right across from the atacama desert in Chile), which is surrounded in the largest salt flats in the world! It is really bizzaar to look around and only see white- there were rains the night before I was there, so the sky reflected on the water/salt and everything was double.

Paul and I did a three day tour, which ended up being quite longggg- our jeep broke down about ever 20 minutes! We were on the tour with a good group though- a brazilian girl that is moving to Argentina but traveling along the way (that I am going to go visit in Tucumán soon!) and a family of nine people from España that were a blast.

In some pictures, we are on an island that is famous for it´s giantsized cactus. Isla del Pescado is plopped in the middle of the immense salt flats and is covered in enormous cactus, some over 1000 years old! One night we stayed in a hostel constructed completely out of salt... including the beds. It was cool

I liked how the cracks in the salt formed geometric shapes on the floor.
except that they were bunk beds and Paul stayed on the top bunk, every time he rolled over salt from the wall or bed fell on my face!!

A big part of the trip was driving through vast desert and not that exciting (beautiful but wayyy to much time in the car). We stopped at a bunch of pretty lakes, checked out some volcanos, ate llama (which tasted like it stayed in the over 3 days too long), and played cards.
