It continues

Its hard to remember where I left off due to the difference in time that I post things up and when I actually write them. Ill try to start back up with where I left off. On saturday night I was told by my host mom that it was important for me to go out and dance since it was saturday. Apparently everyone elses parents here told them the same thing so a group of 5 of us decided we were going out. Before we went out dancing though we went to a bar in town called Cafe Martinez for a "concert". When we got there it was a coffee house with a girl singing evanescence songs that were good and she had a beautiful voice. After she played a bunch of grungy looking Argentine guys got up and starting playing pop punk songs from my childhood which made me think of home in a good way. Some of the bands they covered were Relient K, New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco and more. After that we went down to a discotec on the river called Taura. When we went in there were 5 of us and it was a bunch of people sitting around. Mind you it was 1 30 in the morning at this point and we were asking people where the dancing was and they kept saying right here. at around 145 people starting moving tables and the sound got way turned up and the dancing began. This club was huge....there was huge patio space outside and huge space inside. probably about 3 times as big as clubs back home. People were dancing everywhere and as the night rolled on we lost people we were with and the place was so packed that you couldnt move. Guess they dont have fire marshalls in Argentina. I danced/drank/wandered around until about 5am and called it a night.....I went outside and there was a huge line that was really long and it was 5am. Later the next day I heard it was good that I left early because when everyone left at 6 or 7am there wasnt a cab in site so Im glad I got out while I did. It was a 3 peso cab ride home from there so I was happy.
The next day I slept till 1230. Theresa was up making a killer cake for some little kids birthday party and watching TV quietly. She is a really sweet old lady with the best of intentions. She made me tea and a panini like sandwitch for breakfast again and sent me on my way. I met up with Natalie, Molly, Lauren, and Lindsey and we went to the flea markets down on the river. Everyone else seemed to go to the break dancing show at the national monument by this point Im kinda all national monumented out for a while. Anyways.....the booths there were so cool. There was all kinds of arts and crafts everywhere and it was just a massive saturday market except with more talent put into the crafts. Anyways I got a leather bracelet and a flute like instrament that I am learning to play. We will see how that goes....I will keep you posted.
After the flea market we ended up meeting up with Tony from the program and having a drink down on the river. It was a good time and I went home to dinner with Taresa. as I remember she made a good meal and we talked abotu the weekend.
Today was my first day of class and it was nothing special to talk about. After class I rode the bus home with Jim and then later went out with Brian to get a drink. At drinks we met some local guys who spoke some english so we hung out with them and chilled and Brian went back to there house to drink more but I went home because we both have class at 9 and its 2am or so. Not my thing. Anyways Im sure Ill keep you posted.
