Ill admit Im having quite a few language difficulties here. Its my fault, but what else am I supposed to do? I just got wallow through the difficulties and try to learn something. I guess Im really writing to vent some feelings... I had such a frustrating day on this account!
At first, I was very happy to be in San Juan. The streets are cute, the city is clean... whatever. I am only paying $5.72 for a hostel to night... and it is so nice!! Yay.
Well, I thought that was nice, until I found that on account of my bad spanish, I somehow had lunch for over $7. Which totally spoiled my "I{m saving so much money today" happy mood... and the food wasnt even good. It ws actually terrible! There is just something about paying for bad food that I absolutely HATE. And on account of how expensive it was, I am not eating dinner.
Then I went to get a bus ticket for tomorrow. I thought the guy was talking about prices, but he was talking about times to leave. I got a bus ticket for 730 am. Ick! I dont want it! Please
rinconsaurusI think, if I remember correctly. Hey, did I mention that I stayed at the triasico hostel. Fun times. Also, the world´s oldest dinosaur has been found in this desert? 180 mya, cool stuff....
take it back!
A highlight was the paleontology museum. It is very small, but they have REAL skeletons on display! It is absolutely amazing. You never see the real thing. But the dinosaur finds are so rich in the near by park that I guess they are just taking out stuff all the time. And these were very complete and beautiful specimens. So when the scientists get a new one, they just bring it back, open it up, and let it sit out for the whole public to look at. Some of them were difficult to percieve in a way, but still, big beautiful full skeleton dinosaurs! YAY!
The weird things was that I made the lady in charge there very unhappy... and I dont know why. And she stared me down the whole time and I was uncomfortable. And then when I tried to leave, she kept directing me toward the end of the parking lot which I couldnt get out of. I had to go throught the building in a way I dont think I was supposed to enter to escape! As I was leaving someone asked me what I was doing and I just fleed! OH well. hehe
but I was a bit stressed out from all of that. I guess Im just trying to be super careful about money. I have absolutley decided to see the local National Park.. but it keeps looking like it will cost me a little bit of money... eh! Also... my sunglasses finally died. They were squashed to death by the lonely planet guide. Again, its fine... but it is so bright here that I really do need another pair... Im looking for the most inexpensive I can find... no matter the style! I was hoping I could fit it into my $15 budget a day today... but lunch killed that notion...
Ah. Look at the blooming trees, see the blue skies... relax relax relax!
Pictures tomorrow.
Travel tomorrow: to Valle Fertile... which is not aptly named, as it sits next to the Atacama desert.. the driest place in the world. Im going to Moon Valley.
