We were up early for a short drive to a place just outside Salta called Salta Rafting. We arrived at midday, and set up camp next to a river, it was a stunning location. Suprisingly the big thing to do here is rafting, but when the bloke said it was a grade 2 river, no one wanted to do it, grade 5 or nothing for us. So, instead we all went Zip-lining, and we were all very glad we did. There were 9 zip lines dotted around the valleys, and we saw a few from camp........... well, we thought they couldn't be as they looked far too high. They were high....140 metres high and 650 metres long.
What a day, you start on a couple of smaller ones, still, over deadly drops, then move on to the bigguns. It was so much fun, much better than rafting, a little scary at first, but brilliant!
That evening we cooked some more good food around the campfire and got to work on the many crates of ale we had purchased from a local supermarket, a mere 52 crates, we wanted 80 but we wiped them out!
In the morning we
drove into Salta town, which is pretty big. We found a hostel and had a good walk around town. The weather was on our side again so we sat in the plaza and enjoyed a few drinks. Everyone was out that night for some good food then a pub crawl. We stumbled across a bar showing a live band. They must have been pretty big as the people were going absolutely wild. They had their own big introduction video and all sorts. The locals were going mad. They were awful, so we quickly left. Luckily i found a bar with a really good live band playing good blues, so we settled in their for most of the night. The music was excellent, lots of old Stones covers too.
A couple of us awoke early the next day to go and watch the United match. A swift ale for breakfast and i was feeling right as rain again.... Can't remember the score, it was a while ago now, think they won!! Another lad came out after the game and we spent a lazy sunny day having a few drinks around the plaza. Nothing major happened that night, just a few
drinks around town and a relatively early night!
I know the pics are a bit messed up, some missing, some copied, in the wrong order, but the website is playing up, sorry, better pictures on Facebook.
