Mar Del Plata bus station adios.
Very sad to leave such special people, but happy to have made such great friends, otherwise known as, Sappy, as Billy would call it. We said goodbye to the beaches and new surrogate family and friends of Mar Del Plata and are now amongst the mountains and lakes of Bariloche. From the east coast to the west right on the border of chile, one side of Argy to the other, 24 hours and about 1200 km travelling with a one way $60aud bus ticket. Thank you to los Bastida´s y los Mastroberti´s for inviting us into your house and into your amazing warm family arms for the whole week. We all felt so fortunate to be spoilt and surrounded by so much argy family love. "Nooo, gracias vos" I hope there is plenty more asado, helado and dance floor rendevous together. Juan Cruz and Mika my new beautiful niece and nephews I look forward to hearing your english language grow and hope oneday to show you what an australian bbq is all about. What i learned from these two families is how important family is and that i haven´t appreciated it as much as i could of until now. To be surrounded by people of all ages with unconditional love, guidance and support is something you miss out on when away from home. In oneday

Thanks for inviting us into your carpo(small tents that argy´s rent at the beach for the summer for a bit of shade, chill out from any wind and a place to keep your things) for the week at the beach. I could be building sandcastles and having foot races to talking history of argentinian immigration and receiving away from home fatherly advice. Something I have taken for granted when its close by, on call and a date in the diary which at times i have looked at more like obligation than, with appreciation.
So hear we are now staying in arguably the best hostels in the world. I have included photos but wish there was a better way to capture the view and essence of these places. Very lucky to have found both of them, random chat with numerous locals in the ugliest building in town ending up producing a heavenly hostel that introduced us to 5 star vistas and some great new travel friends.
We are in the land of luxury now, but we just finished a 6 night stint in the forest camping, getting dirty and growing moustaches. Was a mixed week of weather which for me can generally be a huge factor in the happiness scale when camping. We had 3 spectacular days and 3 very wet wood days. I will remember most the tres dias bathing in sunshine, swimming in icy cold fresh water
lazy beach days in Mar Del Plata
This, drink mate, volleyball and daily hamburgesas was the way we spent most of our free time. la vida es bueno rivers, daily walks through forests so green everything feels edible, waking to snow covered mountains and waterfalls and night campfires that hypnotize your thoughts. A whole lot more importance is definately placed on meal time and taste buds seem a whole lot more appreciative when you sit down to a meal that has taken at least an hour to prepare. Due to the fact our famous flyfishermen in the gang, never got a single bite, who would of thought that after six days i would still be loving tuna in a can as much as i do. A great time amongst good friends, one very clever Canadian who shared his vast knowledge a little too often and the peaceful serenity of basic living. The best thing about camping is it immediately takes two things out of my life which tend to take up a lot of thinking time. Money and vanity. Life is a whole lot more sacred when simplified.
