Boarded a late bus on October 5th, heading out of Buenos Aires on the way to Puerto Iguazu, to where the 2nd biggest waterfalls and supposedly one of the most astounding sites on our planet rests. The bus ride was a relatively short one for me, as I slept 16 of the 18 hours...so when arrival came around noon on the 6th, off to the falls! Boarded a bus for the 20 minute ride to Iguacu. There is a small train that takes you to the pathways that you walk to the falls, there are many different falls, but the most impressive is the Garganta del Diablo (Throat of the Devil). The sound is absolutely deafening, and the spray when you get close up is like being in monsoon season in Japan.
After viewing the falls from above, headed down to the base of the river, on a boat and jungle tour called Gran Aventura...it was a whitewater rafting motorboat that took us into the base of all the waterfalls including the Gargantura del Diablo, it tossed us around a bit in the whitewater rapids under the falls of course drenching us and then headed down the Rio del Diablo
to the jungle military trucks. Headed through 8km of jungle, saw birds, big snake, some big lizard creatures, pretty cool. And went back to town for food and drinks.
The next day took a taxi across the Argentina-Brazil border and boarded a plane at the Foz de Iguacu Airport, which was booked approx 2 hours before it took off, haha...landed in Sao Paulo at about 4PM.
No photos for now (maybe until i return), because my parents camera crapped out on me, and i do have my camera as backup but forgot to bring the cord to connect it to these old school computers at internet cafes.
