So having checked weather reports, we decided to cancel plans to go South (gonna do that on our return to argentina in about 5 weeks), and have instead headed west to mendoza near the Chilean border, and wow... what can I say? Beautiful chilled out city with the andes in sight, cool, crisp mountain air and a chance to chill the fuck out. Which is just the remedy for the mayhem that was BA!
It seems like for the first time in ages I am totally relaxed, and when I put my head down at night my brain feels peaceful in the knowledge I can get up and do whatever the next day. The downside to this, is that I am having some weirdo dreams. The worst of which involved me somehow getting rabies and then waking up convinced I had got rabies for a good few minutes.
Yesterday we went out for a bit of horse riding in the low andes, and Sanjay hurt his balls cantering which made me laugh. In the evening we cooked a good old english meal in the hostel to save some money - bit of bangers and mash argie style! Was particularly
impressed with myself because the frying man could not have been 1cm deep, and I had to cook the potatoes in what resembled a 1st world war helmet or something shit anyway.
I headed out in the evening to ´5 DECADES OF ROCK´with a lovely english couple (jim and amelia), and a guy who was on the horseriding with us. 5 decades of rock turned out to be an argentinian cheese fest, so I livened it up by telling Simon stupid things to say to girls in spanish to see if he´d come across as a sweet english boy trying to learn the lingo. Many 'I'm English, the eyes are very pretty' and 'Want dance for me?´ later, Simon remained womenless so we trotted home about 5AM. Also I can now confirm that me and Bob definately have COMPLETELY different tastes in women, cos whilst he informed me they beautiful I remain unimpressed.
Oh, and I had my first ever racist experience! YEAAAAAAAAAH! The guy in the corner shop refused to sell me the local beers (Andres) and said I could only buy Heineken or Budweiser! Motherfuckerrr (miss your accent Thereza!)
