Colonia - how quaint!

Sometimes it´s hard saying Goodbye to some places and Buenos Aires is one of them. The French in me enjoyed the arquitecture and culture, and the Australian in me loved the partying. (I was called weird in Ozland for doing just that!). Buenos Aires - 1st time (2nd Dec-15th Dec) Living in the city: Buenos Aires was for me a good compromise between living in [View Full Entry]

My little friend was telling me the other night about a giant frog that lives around here and it has teeth!..Well, I couldn't just let that go past, frogs don't have teeth I replied. Then it was on...all sorts of memories, anecdotes, we had the wait staff at the bar involved, later, taxi drivers, by standers, people on the street. She had a dfinite advantage, she speaks espanol so she could ask the question and filter the answers..I understand enough about espanol and also arguments with women! [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, Its a shame to say but another year has passed and im still living the dream!!! In a quaint little beach town called mar del plata, which for you dummards who dont speak two languages fluently like me is translated to sea of silver.... Hardly cause the sea here looks like toilet water from bubba-joes crapper in the d-block, but we have to make do with what we have RIGHT??? No its a great town just not what i expected, i was hoping for small little island town with sandy roads and dogs running around everywhere with crystal waters [View Full Entry]

Navigates his way around the world then gets lost in a backyard blog!....I found the problem!...I backdated that blog "The Pear-shaped Puzzle" and its back in the pack at 2nd Dec. Ooops. But thanks to all the responses...its sort of gratifying to know there are so many of you still folowing the trail. But for those of you saving it for some verification later, well, that's another story...I mean some of these things have actually happened, some have happened to others, some have happened in my head.....some might have happened...I don't think any of them have maliciously not happened.....an [View Full Entry]

Starting this morning in Montevideo, Uruguay, we walked around the city to find out that the city is alive and kicking. Locals go to work, cars are zooming all around us, and shops are open. We managed to purchase some souvenirs from Uruguay, including from a flea market at Plaza Constitution. Montevideo doesn´t have much to offer tourists, so we decided to leave the city earlier than scheduled by successfully changing the tickets to the one o´clock Buquebus. Things went smoothly except for a little incident on my Argentine visa (surprise, surprise), but it got sorted out after a [View Full Entry]

¡Hola! Wow, flying around south of the equator is definitely a different feeling than what I'm used to. And less than 12 hrs since we left the cold U.S.A., landing in poluted and mid-summer Buenos Aires is quite a shock. Meanwhile, Ryan, Halef and myself finally got adjusted with the sophisticated life of Buenos Aires residents. Well, although we still look like (and speak like) gringos, we know where we're going and what we see. Or at least we think we do. We are heading across the Rio de la Plata to Uruguay now, to 'escape' the busy Argentina to Uruguay. [View Full Entry]
